Testimony from PASTOR V. N. MBEWE My name is Victor Ngalande Mbewe Pastor of a message believing church.. we are in the harvest time ministry, a ministry that is bringing hope to many of the message believers. This moment I want to talk about the prison ministry, a ministry which many of the message believers, ministers and Pastors have shown no or little interest. But now they are starting to change their stand and are coming up to join the crusade of preaching the gospel of the end time message. It was one good Sunday morning of January of 1998 after along time of desiring to take the end time message in the prison I woke up very early in the morning and prayed ‘LORD JESUS CHRIST I DESIRE TO TAKE TOUR MESSAGE INTO PRISON, I HAVEN’T GOT A PERMIT BUT I WILL GO, LET ONE DOOR BE OPENED TO ME SO THAT I WOULD DELIVER THIS MESSAGE TO THE PRISONERS TODAY” It was such a burden in my heart that I walked to Mukobeko maximum prison. I spent about 1 hour 30 minutes to walk to the prison from my house. The maximum security prison gates could not open for me. I just left some end time gospel tracts to the with the prisoners. I was told to bring a permit from the prison headquarters which is in town about 15 km from home .so I went to the other prison which just opposite the maximum prison. Here I was allowed to preach my first sermon under a tree. When I finished preaching one of the prisoners who was my interpreter that day came up and said “I have heard about this message before and I would like to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ” arrangements were made for baptism the following week. The following week I was told there
about 5 more prisoners wanted to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ. So the first 5 prisoners were baptized from the medium prison in the
prison gardens Our deacon now was one of those I preached to under a tree. But he never showed interest at that time after two weeks I did not find in prison again only to meet him in town a free man. He invited me to his home where I preached to his family members also. They all believed and I baptised the entire family. today the all family is in our church as believers. In 2000 I was permitted to preach in the female prison which is nearer to the medium. This is not a sight to enjoy looking at. In 2001 I was now permitted to preach in the maximum prison. The prison authorities become convinced about this ministry so they gave me national wide permit to preach the gospel to all prisoners in the Zambian prisons. Since 1998 I have baptized more
than 100 prisoners .some are now out of prison and some are still serving their
jail sentences. Those out of prison, I can not tell of their present today
spiritual stand. It is my desire that if the Lord will bless us financially we
intend to retain many of them around Kabwe. Currently we can not afford to find
them what to do have where to stay. We shall greatly appreciate for any assistance that you will give to this ministry so that we can reach all the prisons in Zambia. Till next time God bless you PASTOR
