Tina wrote 12/20/2004: “the new warden and the assistant warden are the “Bomb”, we’re actually allowed to celebrate Christmas…Yeah!!! Our Assistant warden went out and bought us a real 10ft. Christmas tree and put it right outside the chapel. She’s so cool, listen to what she did the other night, she put lights all over the tree, called the choir members to the tree, then told all the “police” (guards) to let us out of our dorms and send us to the tree, when we all surrounded the tree, she lit all the lights and the choir started singing Christmas songs, wasn’t that cool?” we all stood around the tree at night watched the beautiful lights and sang together like family, it was absolutely awesome, we haven’t had a Christmas like that in years. Then when we returned to our dorms, the assistant warden had Kairos members from the outside come in here and deliver Christmas bags to everyone. We got a couple of chocolate bars, a big brownie, candy canes, a tiny thing of lotion, and a small writing pad, that was so sweet of our warden.”
