OUR PURPOSE
: To preach
deliverance to the captives I
experienced an unexpected troublesome circumstance in 2000 which led me to
discover what jails are all about, especially in Africa. I was kept in by
mistake just one day and night for questioning purpose from Sunday up to
Monday morning as I could not be questioned on Sunday which was not a work
day. They finally realized I was not the guy they wanted and I was then
released. Words
cannot convey that much how I felt the loathsome conditions of the
prisoners here. I also understood that all those that are in jail are not
always guilty. There are some victims of the ignorance of the Rights;
others are victims of misuse of Rights. In Africa, Life in jails without
receiving help from outside is very difficult as far as food, clothing,
hygiene, health are concerned. So inmates are very receptive to any one
trying to provide any help or to visits from outside. Therefore,
inmates are very well predisposed to the Gospel. The jails are thus
fertile lands for the spreading of the message of the hour. Where the
justice of the men can fail the Justice of God will never failed. If
everybody rejects us, we can nevertheless find consolation with God. It
has created a real shelter through the blood of his son Jesus. The
justice of the men is most of the times unable to change nor to correct a
man from his evil doing, nor restore him to the righteousness and to the
truth and efficiently. God alone through his Son can correct and set free
souls kept in the jails of the death. Our
main goal is to help men to find back their identity with God. If someone
can be condemned according to the justice of men, they can nevertheless
find mercy according to God's justice or righteousness if they can repent
from their sins and receive salvation. Our
purpose is not to make new church members from inmates, but to bring them
to personal relationship with God through this end time truth. So Congo
Prison Ministries is mainly dedicated to evangelize, teach true moral and
social values according to the Bible, to pray for prisoners, to hand out
religious books, to provide any assistance to prisoners as far as
practicable. We preach Jesus Christ the same Yesterday, Today and for
ever. We
gladly welcome any other group or people interested to prison ministries
or which bear the same burden for prison in their hearts. And we realize
that if inmates can receive the most important freedom which is in the
Lord, they can be able to meet with the Saints at the Rapture to have
liberty for ever. Luke 4:
18 The Spirit of the
Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent
me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord. God
bless! Richard
