FREE MORAL AGENCY
MARK OF CHRIST LA CA

E-35
Listen, when man spurns mercy, there's only one thing left, and that's
judgment. God's loving, not willing that any should perish. But if you do any
perishing, you do it yourself. You do it by free moral agency; you do by desire. God don't want you to, but you
do it anyhow. You fight your way into it.
FAITH OF ABRAHAM SAN FERNANDO CA 55-1118
E-18Abraham... What was it now? God called
Abraham because he was a good man? No. God called Abraham by election.
God elects people. And over in--in the Book of Ephesians the 1st chapter and
about the 5th verse, Paul states the word "predestinated" us
to the adoption of sons. Now, that
doesn't mean that God just puts you in a little channel and runs you through,
and you can't help if you--how you go, when you--you... Would be no reward.
But God gives you the free moral agency
to make your choice, but God will keep His believer.
E-69 069
And you're on the basis of free
moral agency. You can turn this down or you can accept it. To turn it down
is to be lost and remain potash, and calcium, and petroleum. But to accept it,
and to have a new heart, a new spirit, and His Spirit, part of the Logos in you
controlling your emotions... And when He coos through His Word, you coo back
and answer to Him. "Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today, and
forever..."
"Amen, Lord."
E-54 054
How'd He do it? Out of the dust of the earth. Now, look, if it taken the
Holy Spirit to brood me from the earth, to call me out of the dust of the
earth, and now I am based on the basis of free
moral agency to receive it or to turn it down. If want life, I can have it.
If I want to refuse it, I'm a free moral
agent. I can take the devil then. But if I want God, I can take God. And
that's before every person that ever come on the earth.
But look,
by my own mental conceptions, I can't have it. What is it? It took the
Holy Spirit to bring me from the earth. And if the Holy Spirit made me
what I am without having any choice, how much more can He bring me back out of
the dust of the earth by choice. Not my intellectuals, not my church
membership, but the Holy Ghost that's brooding down, and calling to me,
I'll answer back to It. He raised His hands and swore that He'd raise me up in
the last days.
E-15 015
Now, a man's on the basis of free moral--free moral agency. And he cannot... God could not take a man and say, "Now, I'm going to make you do
this. I'm going to make you be--to be a lost man. I'm going to make you be a
saved man." That wouldn't be the nature of God. No. He's not willing
that any should perish, but He wants all to repent. But if He was... Being infinite as He is, He knew from the
beginning who would perish and who would not perish, because He knew what would
be. Now, He's not willing that it would be that way; He want's all to come back
to Him, but He knows who will and who won't. So therefore, He could by foreknowledge, He can make everything
work right according to His plan.
Oh, aren't you happy for a Father like that?
E-27 027
God doesn't send you to hell for being a sinner. God sends you to hell,
because you won't repent and take Christ as your Saviour. You refused to take
the right road. You send yourself to torment. You send your own soul to its
eternal destination upon the free moral
agency of your own convictions. God does not send anyone to hell. He never
did, and He never will. Men send themselves to hell, because they refuse
to--to accept the way of salvation. God isn't... He's long-suffering. He
doesn't want any to perish. Never wanted it. But men rather walk in darkness
than to walk in Light.
The reason of it is, they... they are borned in that
condition, and have no desire to take the Light. And messengers come from east
and west, and north and south, and throw barricades, song service, testimonies,
preaching across the path of the sinner, and he deliberately walks right
through them that's all, then say that God is responsible, or guilty. God is
good and full of mercy, and He wouldn't want no one lost. But man wants to be
lost, because it's his desire. He refuses to walk in Light. That's what makes
him be lost.

"How is self-will? Why
will you call that self-will, Brother Branham?" Because it puts a man and
woman back again just like Adam and Eve at the garden of Eden, On what? The two trees? Self-will, this one is
death. This one is Life, self-will. Immoral... Free moral agency... God placed the first man, Adam and Eve, right
here on free moral agency. He places you the same place. And the only way that you can get this thing fixed in here is your own
self-will. Hallelujah. Your self-will. You
have to will to do God's will. You have to get rid of your own will to let
God's will come in, for this is the
only channel that leads to the heart.
GREATEST BATTLE EVER

So many people lots of times has misconstrued the Word, and I've been
misunderstood by this, by making altar calls. I said, "I wasn't much on an
altar call," not meaning that you shouldn't make an altar call, but
somebody get somebody by arm say, "Oh, Brother John, you know what? Me and
you been neighbors all this time; come up here to the altar; get down."
What's he doing? Wish I had a blackboard here, I
could show you what he's doing. He's trying to work through his soul on
affections. That don't work. That's not the avenue. Certainly it isn't. Maybe
he's working in what? A memory, through the sense of his soul. "Oh,
Brother John, you had a wonderful mother; she died a long time ago": a
memory. See? You can't do that, it's got
to come down the line of free moral agency. You, yourself, let the Word of God... You don't come because
your mother was a good woman; you don't come because you're a good neighbor; you come because that God calls you to come,
and you accept Him on the basis of His Word. That Word's what means everything.
That
Word, if you can get everything out of the way, all conscience, all senses, and
just let the Word come in, that Word will produce just exactly.
DOES GOD CHANGE
HIS MIND LA CA 65-0427
49 015 Now, to be a Saviour, there has to be
something lost. And God cannot purposely lose anything and then redeem it. It
wouldn't be becoming to His holiness and His great judgment. But He put man on free moral agency, knowing that man
would fall. And in that then, He became man Himself in order to redeem back man
that fell. That's the reason that Jesus was Emmanuel. If God sent another
person besides Himself, then that wouldn't be just. God had to come Himself and
take place. And God could not be come down in Spirit and take place; He had to
be made flesh in the flesh of His Own creative Son.
And He showed here, in the beginning, that His
perfect will was to create man out of the dust of the earth. But, you see, He
permitted sex to be brought in. He never did intend children to be born by sex,
but it was permitted, which soon will fade away.
