“COMMIT IT TO GOD”

GOD IN HIS PEOPLE    LITTLE ROCK AR  50-0227

E-9   009   There's a fountain open, flowing freely everywhere. Just drink till you just can't drink no more. The tree, if it just drink to what it was allotment, why, it would just always still in the drought. That's what's the matter with the Christians. They don't drink enough. You want to drink till just you spread out and let somebody else see it. See? Push out. Get a testimony. Commit it to God. Believe it. Step out on it. Claim God's promise. Just commit it to God. Believe it. "Commit thy ways unto the Lord." He will bring it to pass whatever you want.

But He can't do it until... as long as you're holding it. Now, I will see if I'm any better, and see if this will work. You commit it to Him; forget about the rest of it. Go testifying of things you don't even see. You believe it. It's not what you see; it's what you believe. It's not what you feel. He never did say, "Did you feel it?" He said, "Did you believe it?"

That's how you're saved is by faith. That's how you're healed is by faith. And faith is the substance of the things hoped for, the evidence of things you don't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. You just believe it. Act upon it as though it was. Amen.

GOD IN HIS PEOPLE   LITTLE ROCK AR  50-0227

E-25   025   If I tell you anything, and Christ doesn't say that's so, then don't you believe it. But if I tell you something that He's done and He testifies behind, that He has done that, then you believe Him. Is that fair enough? That's...

Now, the gift doesn't heal no one. The gift is not for healing, no more than a Gospel preacher is sent for saving. He can't save anyone. He can preach under power to bring people to a knowledge of the Word of God, and come do their confessing, and God does the saving. Is that right? That's the same thing it is. He's--He's got a sign. He's preaching under power that brings conviction to the human heart, and they come to the altar, and by faith, they accept Jesus Christ and then find the results. Is that right? When they make a committal to God, committed to Him and believe Him, and then it brings forth the results...

Now, a heal--healing is the same way. Ministers has preached it through the years, but this the day when God is doing something different.

LIFE STORY    TOLEDO OH  51-0722A

E-9   009   Now, there's a perfect way and a permissive way. And I feel that if God, here on the platform, can show me things that has been, and in my rooms and so forth, He's able to tell me just where He wants me and what He wants me to do. But I feel as long as I've got it all hooked up, or I--I feel like then He won't put His hands on it, as long as I'm doing it.

And that's the way it is, anything. As long as you're going to do it... If someone talks about you, and you talk back about them, God can't fight your battle; you're fighting it yourself. See? Just--just let loose and let Him do it. And just commit it to Him. The greatest weapon that I know of of a Christian today, is a committal to God. When you can't do nothing about it, just commit it to Him, and God will take care of it. Don't you believe that? So while I'm away and overseas, if God willing, I'm going to depend on you people to be praying for me. And especially if we get into Jerusalem.

ONLY ONE TRUE LIVING CHURCH   ERIE PA  51-0727

E-5   005   Now, the Gospel, commonly believed, is the Word of God, and that is true in one sense. But the Word of God is not Gospel alone. The Word of God is the Seed that produces the Gospel. Jesus said a sower went forth and sowed seed. And some fell onto the stony places, and some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air devoured them. Some fell upon thorny thistle ground; some went over and brought a hundredfold.

Now, the seed, you people here who are a farmers, every seed will produce if it's in the right kind of a ground. And every Divine promise of God in the Bible will produce if It's met in the right kind of a heart. It'll produce the promise. If you have need of salvation, believe that He saves you and accept His sacrificial death, and you shall receive what you've asked for. If you're weary and gloomy and feel like that everyone's against you, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." That's a seed. Accept it. And if you're sick, "He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes we're healed." "Accept it. It's a seed: will produce.

When you sow a seed, you don't dig it up every morning to see if it's come to pass. If you do, your seed will never come up. You got to plant it, commit it to the earth, and let it alone. It's up to nature, God, to water it and to see that it produces. Is that true?

So that's the way you do the Word of God. Accept it in a good heart, already fertilized, and all the creepers, and the rocky places, and the stony doubts taken away, and in good rich soil of faith, and believe it, commit it to God, and walk away, testifying that you have received what God has promised you. And He's the High Priest of your confession, to make right anything that you confessed that He has done. That's the Gospel. Now, the Gospel isn't only the Word.

Could you imagine people freezing to death, and I would paint them a picture of a fire. I'd say, "Look at the fire burning. Isn't it warm? Look at the people standing around, warming." But that's only a picture of something that has been. You'd freeze just the same, looking at the picture. What it takes is that fire to be reproduced again for your warmth.

And the Gospel that was in that day, it's written in the Word as a history, a painted fire of what was. Accept the same seed that they accept, and it'll be a living reality in you, that'll bring you into the same experience that they had.

Say, "Rev. Branham, is that the truth?"

According to the writings of the Scripture, the great Saint Paul said, "The Gospel come to us not by Word only, but through power and demonstrations of the Holy Ghost."

And when Jesus commissioned the church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel: Mark 16, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not... And these signs shall follow them that believe..."

EARNESTLY CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH CONNERSVILLE IN  53-0614A

E-77   077   Now Father, I commit this all to You, ask You in... The greatest thing I've ever known in my life, is to commit something to You. Now, I commit it to You, Lord, that You'll bring Your people together, and will take the enemy from this--the midst of the people. And may the power of God have the right of way in every heart, for I ask it in Christ's Name.

And with your heads bowed, if you will, just a moment. I wonder just now, how...

RESURRECTION OF JAIRUS DAUGHTER   PHOENIX AZ  54-0302

E-5   005   I used to have to shift for myself. But since I found Him to be my Father, why, He--He does it for me. I found out this in my twenty-one years of experience of preaching the Gospel: any job that's too big for my Lord to attack, what's the use of me trying it? I just let Him have it, so... See? Just commit it to Him. He promised to take care of me. When opposition comes, I just commit it to Him. 'Cause He said He would do it for me. And if He can't do it, I know there's no need of us trying it. So we just live peacefully and go on. He brings it out all right. No need of getting all fretted up and stewing about it. Why, He's just going to make it all right. Amen.

I love Him for that, don't you? Let's read some out of His precious Word, so I won't be late in the service tonight. The reason I read from His Word each time, is because that I know... To this audience, the purchase of His Blood, if I read one sentence out of His Word here, if you don't get no more than that, you'll be blessed by coming here.

AT THY WORD LORD    JOHNSON CITY NY  54-1207

E-48   048   Only by your confession can you be saved. That's the most powerful weapon that God put in the hand of man, is a committal and a confession. It'll do it every time, if you'll believe it, accept it on those basis, and believe it and stay with it. Keep confessing it. When you confess it...

You know what a lot of people look at symptoms. They always go around say, "Well now, I don't feel any better." That doesn't have one thing to do with it. It's what you believe, not what you feel.

If there's any man had a good case of symptoms, was Jonah. He was backslid, hands tied behind him on a stormy sea, swallowed by a whale, in the belly of the whale, down in the bottom of the sea. Any man knows that a fish when it feeds, it'll pass through the water till it finds its way, and then goes right down and rests at the bottom.

TIME OF DECISION   LA CA  59-0418

E-12   012   Now, we find out that Eliezer decided, that though he was a good man, and he was on a great mission, and he was under oath... Now, when a man gets to that place, it's time not to use his own thinking. So he knelt down and begin to pray, and said, "Lord, if You have blessed me in the way and have brought me here, let it come to pass that the first damsel that comes from the city to get water..." Because it was in the evening time that they had come out to get their water. And he said, "If I go ask her for a drink (See him asking for the sign of God?), and if she gives me a drink and said, 'I'll also water your camels,' that'll be the one that You have chosen." He committed it to God. "Let it be Your choice, Lord."

Oh, if we could only learn to be a trusted servant of God like that, that we could commit things to God. It's the most powerful thing that I know of is a committal. "Commit thy ways unto the Lord." Commit your thinking to Him. If you're sick, and the doctors can't help you no more, then just commit your case to God and act like it's already done. Something will have to take place. It just can't keep from it, because God is a Creator.

TIME OF DECISION  LA CA  59-0418

E-38   038   That's up to God to take care of the rest of it. And the best Seed I can find is the Word of God, because It's eternal. Just commit It to your heart, not to your head. You'll keep digging It around, turning It around, saying, "Well, if Doctor So-and-so said so... My pastor said days of miracles is past." Put It in your heart. Let It alone. Start acting as if you already had your crop. Get your sickles all sharp. Get ready to go into the field. Don't dig It up every morning, just leave It there. If It's germitized, It will work. It'll raise a crop. If It isn't...

Looky here if I ask tonight of cancer cases, blindness, crippled, lame, halt, all kinds of diseases by the tens of thousands are healed. It'll work if you'll put It in the right place. But if you lay It up on the shelf, It'll never do any good. Did not Jesus say, "'Less a corn of wheat fall in the earth and perish..." Unless you can take that wheat, and don't try to turn it over and look at it, and guess about it, just commit it to your heart and forget about it. It's your decision that God will take the rest of it.

SHOW US THE FATHER AND IT WILL SATISFY    YAKIMA WA  60-0731

E-44   044   You can take a man that looks like a Christian, acts like a Christian, but if that man hasn't got the Word of God in him, if there isn't a germ of life in there to germitize that, he will never rise in the resurrection. That's right. 'Cause he can't rise; there's nothing in there to raise him up again: a seed.

Now, when you bury a seed, you farmers, you take and go out here and plant your corn, you don't go out every morning and scratch it up, and say, "Let's see now, is it growing? Anything happen to it? No." Put it back down. Late the next day, you say, "I want to see if it's getting along all right." scratch it up again; it'll never grow like that. Well, the thing you do with seed, you commit it to the ground, cover it up; that's all you can do about it. It's up to God to do the rest of it.

Well, that's the same way it is with the Word of God. If you'll take any Divine promise God made His Bible, put it in your heart, and water it every day with praises of God, that's going to come to pass, it'll grow, if you don't quit fooling with it, if you'll just leave it alone. Don't say, "Let me see, can I move my finger any better today, do I feel any better, is my headache a little bit better? " Oh, no, it'll never be that, just commit it to God, and walk away, and leave it alone. That's God's seed. It'll grow.

THOU SON OF DAVID HAVE MERCY ON ME   LONG BEACH CA  61-0215

E-16   016   But we don't always know, you know. God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. If we commit anything to God and believe it, like our children or whatevermore, let's believe that God will answer that prayer. The day 'fore I left to go away, the phone constantly ringing, and the mothers with their children and saying, "I pray for them. "

I said, "Now, just commit them to God. That's all you have to do. And don't put your hands on it anymore. Let God have it." If you're going to do something about it, then God will stand back and let you go ahead till you get finished. But when you commit it to God and let Him have it, then He will do it. You just--you just believe Him. Just stand back, and don't work, but believe. That's where grace is imputed for righteousness, if you believe that God will.

LETTING OFF THE PRESSURE   JEFF IN  62-0513E

99   044   You say, "Well, I--I wonder, Brother Branham." You don't wonder; you just let the pressure off. Commit your case to God, and go on as if it was all over. Don't build up pressure; it lets off pressure.

"Well," you say, "I am so worried, Brother Branham, I just don't know." Let off the pressure. Amen. In the city of refuge He took your worry, so you--you don't have to have it. Cast your cares on Him, for He careth for you. Don't you worry about your cares; that's His business.

HUMBLE THYSELF   JEFF IN  63-0714E

77   031   You know, people are--want power, and really they don't know what power is. See? They--they don't really know what--what--what goes with it. The--the way up is down always. If you want power, see how humble you can get. Just get away from all your worldly thinking, and humble yourself before God, and then you've got more power than the man that runs all over the building and makes a big lot of noise (See?); because you have been able to conquer yourself and commit yourself to Christ (You see?) to humble yourself before Him. That's really power.

You show me a church that's humble, real humble, not a--a arrogant church, just a sweet, humble church, I'll show you a church that has the favor and power of God in it. That's right. That's the thing it takes, humility, humbling ourselves before God, and letting God just work through us. Don't have to make a lot of noise. You...

HE CARES DO YOU CARE?    JEFF IN 63-0721

176   110   And now, when you commit yourself to Him, then He uses you beyond what you know, proving He's still the anointed Word, a Discerner of the thoughts of the heart. Oh, how--how can anyone doubt? Just believe. Don't doubt. And now, you setting out there, I--I hit that subject this morning. When a little woman cared that she wasn't going to get in the prayer line, perhaps, but she touched the border of His garment, and He turned around. Do you believe that? You believe it can be done again today? Yeah. Now, how would you touch it?

WORLD AGAIN FALLING APART   SHP LA  63-1127

77   042   But, you see, when they ask these things, and ask for this, they don't ask as Jesus said. We try to make God like a--like an errand boy, "Lord, You do this for me, and You do this for me. And You go do that," tell Him what to do.

Jesus said, "When you pray, pray like this manner, 'Our Father Who Art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thine will be done." Who, find where we do that? We're always wanting God to run errands for us or do something for us. But when we're willing to say, "Thy will be done," commit ourselves to Him, commit our ways to Him, all that we are, commit it to Him. That's when God will move, when you're willing to let Him work on you, not you work on Him.

Let Him tell you, not you tell Him and twist it around. "Come to our system, O Lord God, make all of us Methodists, all of us Pentecostals rule over the rest of them. We want a genius, we Pentecostal people, we Methodists and Baptists." We got seminaries, building great big ones, saying the--the end of time is at hand, the coming of the Lord, building millions of dollars worth of seminaries, and so forth, trying to what? Get us a messiah. That's right.

Let the Lord raise up something out somewhere, every denomination gets them one of the same kind. That's exactly. Find out. Watch when Divine healing struck, how many Divine healers? Every one had to be a Divine healer.

There was one Moses in the days of that come-out. There was one Elijah, one Elisha, one Isaiah, so forth.

COURT TRIAL   BIRMINGHAM AL  64-0412

E-32   032   Or If I asked you for a oak tree and you gave me an acorn, potentially I have an oak tree. And if I asked you for a ear of corn and you gave me a grain of corn, potentially I have a ear of corn. Then I commit it to the ground, and water it, and keep all the weeds away from it that would draw the strength from the ground around it, keep the weeds out, then it'll automatically grow, because it's committed and it's a germitized seed. Now, if the seed isn't germitized, it won't. But if the seed has the germ of life into it, there's nothing can keep it from growing.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS    JEFF IN  64-0823E

1029-Q-300   080   300. We see... Why can't we sell our house? Thank you. We... P.S. We have prayed and fasted, and--to sell it, yet no results.

Well now, brother or sister (They don't sign their name.), but ever who it is, now, you're trying to sell your property and you've done what you... You want to sell it and probably for to buy some more or whatever you want to do, I don't know. If your objective is right, you're trying buy a home... If you got children or something like that, you want to get them a better home or something... I don't know what it's all about, but I'd say this: If you're trying to sell it, and fasting and trying to sell it, then commit it to the Lord and forget about it. See? Because it might be that God... You might move in somewhere else, and it might not be right. See?

If you're a Christian and trust in the Lord, 'cause you surely are or you wouldn't be fasting and praying. See? So I'd just commit it to the Lord. Say, "Now, Lord, when Your time for us to sell it, You'll send a buyer." Then it's committed to the Lord, take your hands off it and go ahead. I believe it'll work. I'm kinda speeding up here, 'cause I'm just running out of time.
