ASK
ABUNDANTLY
GOD COMMISSIONING MOSES THE
PROPHET JONESBORO AR 53-0508
E-37 037
When they crossed over, got over on the other side, he said, "Now,
you've asked. Ask what you will, and I
will give it to you." Perfect type of the Church.
"All right," he said, "I want a
double portion of your spirit." Amen. Don't be scared to ask. Ask abundantly. "You have not, because you ask
not. You ask not, because you believe not." That's right. Ask, ask a whole lot. God will give you a whole lot. Have a
lot of faith.
A
fellow told me the other day; he said, "He was riding an old model-T Ford,
yet." Said, "One day he happened to get some good faith and God give
him a Buick." Said, "I got a Buick faith, I'm--I'm praying for
Cadillac faith." All right. That's good. That's right. Keep on. What you believe, hold on to it. God will give it.
He's got Ford faith, so just stay with the Ford then, that's all
right. And so... Let's get a little more faith. All right.
E-32 032
Now, when they got down to the Jordan, time to cross over. He made the
way. Then when he crossed over (the stage of the Holy Ghost church), said,
"Now, I want to ask you something."
"So what do you want?"
He said, "That a double portion of your spirit
come upon me." That's the way to ask for it. Don't be scared. Ask for the
whole lot. Jesus said, "You have not because you believe--ask not. You
ask not because you believe not. Ask abundantly
that your joys may be full." Ask a
whole lot. "God, just don't make me a little bit better; make me all
the way well." Don't just let me have enough religion to make myself
miserable; kill me out to sin that I can live in Christ. That's right.
E-14
014 And God will never... You
can never exhaust God's love and mercy to you. You say, "Well, I hate to
bother You so much, Father."
He wants to be bothered that way. He does. Don't
never think that you could ever ask too much of God. I believe the Scripture
said, "You have not, because you ask not. And you ask not, because you
believe not."
He wants us to
ask and believe that our joys would be full. He wants you to ask
abundantly. Ask for big things; don't
limit your faith to some little mustard seed. Get on out here to some other kind of faith, and move out in big things.
Ask... Big things is just as easy to receive as little things. You
just have to believe; that's all. And you
got faith, just know exactly how to use it, and it'll be all right.
You can put it right to work and it'll just be fine.
E-35 035
Now, the Bible said, "Ask abundance."
Certainly. You know, we're afraid
we're going to ask God too much. But you can't over ask God anything.
Could you imagine a little fish about that long out in the middle of the ocean
saying, "Well, I better drink of this water sparingly, 'cause it might run
out someday." Nonsense.
Could
you imagine a little mouse about that long, down under the great garners Egypt,
saying, "I better just eat a few grains each day and be very conservative
now, because I tell you; I might run out before the winter's over, before the
new crop comes in." Oh, my.
Now, that's... Add ten billion times to that, and
you can find how silly it would be to try to think you could exhaust God's
abundance of blessings for you. Why, my, He said, "Ask abundantly that your joys might be full." And Elisha was
going to ask abundantly. He said, "I want a double portion of Your Spirit
upon me." Oh, what a question, what a desire.
11-7 036
Don't think you can exhaust His goodness. Could you imagine a little
fish a half inch long out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean saying, "I'd
better drink sparingly of this water; I might run out?" That would be just
as foolish as to try to think you could ever exhaust God's goodness. Ask abundantly that your joys might be full. Believe
God for anything He promised. It's yours.
E-55 055
Now, how are we planted? We're planted in Christ Jesus. Now, I believe,
just in my estimation of Him. He's the inexhaustible fountain of Life, that you
cannot exhaust His goodness. Some people think, "Oh, I hate to call on God
so much." That's what He wants you to do.
"You have not because you ask not. You ask not
because you believe not. Ask abundantly that
your joys might be full." That's
what God wants: Ask big things. I'm asking for hundreds of souls in this
meeting. I'm asking that every sick person enters that door will go out of here
well. I'm believing it. I'm believing that till we go, that this won't be
another gathering together, but it'll be a revival in Yakima here. Satan's kept
me out of here long enough, and I believe the hour is here for a real sweeping
revival in every church and around the country.
E-42 042
A man said not long ago, said, "I--I don't want to bother God. You
know I--I know He is awful busy." Nonsense. "I--I don't want
to..." Well, you can't exhaust His a bountiful blessings. Could you
imagine a little fish about a half inch long, out in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean say, "I better drink of this water sparingly, 'cause I might run
out."
Could you imagine a little mouse about so big under
the great garners of Egypt saying, "I'd better eat, ration myself this
winter to just two grains a day. I might run out before the new harvest."
That's ridiculous. Well, it's twice that ridiculous, a thousand times more, to
think you can exhaust the mercies of a merciful God. Why, He's trying to force His way into you. "Ask abundantly that your joys might be full."
No way to exhaust Him.
Like a pump,
the more you pump, the fresher the water gets. Oh, and I like that. Just keep pumping, living at the spout where the glory's coming out.
I love that
E-38 038
We think we'll--we'll exhaust His bountiful blessings. We think,
"Well, I asked God to give me my daily bread. I shouldn't ask Him too many
things." Oh, my. Could you imagine a little fish about that long, way out
in the middle of this ocean, saying, "Wait, I'd better drink of this water
sparingly. I might run out someday." Could you imagine a little mouse
about that big under the great garners of Egypt, saying, "I better
allowance myself to one half a grain of wheat a day. I might run out before
next harvest." My. Well, that would... Just multiply that by a hundred
billion, and you try to exhaust God's goodness and mercy.
He's trying to force His way into you, everything He
can. Ask abundantly that your joys might be
full. He wants his people to be happy, asking great things, believing for great
things. You are a city sets on a hill, high ambi--ambitions, expectations. Well, mercy, if we see the blind receive
their sight tonight, I want to see the dead raised tomorrow night. Yes, sir.
And I want to... I--I just keep on believing for greater things.
When the church begin to receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues, why did
you settle down on that? My, just keep moving on. Go on to the promised
land.
We're
on our way to the promised land. Sure, just don't take just one thing. Say,
"Well, we'll just... Have you spoke in tongues? Well, you haven't got a
great blessing till you got..." Well, you ought to be a million miles up
the road from that right now, sure, greater things, high expectations.
Certainly.
E-68 068
Well, that's the way we're supposed to do. If I see a promise in the
Bible that's God's Word, then I just stay
there and cry out till God gives it to me. And He'd do that to get you off His hands. You see? That would be in
the natural. But He's wanting you to do
it. He likes for you to ask. "Ask
abundantly that your joys might be full." Yeah--yeah. Cry until His
Word is vindicated. Now, friend, let's watch just a minute now. Cry until the Word is a-vindicated.
The
trouble of it is, we get a cookie and think that's all there is. There's a
whole table full. We get so we can speak in tongues; we say "Oh, brother, that's
it." Oh, no. That ain't it. That's just some of it. That's right.
"Oh, I got happy enough to shout." That's some more of it. But
there's a whole lot more of it. Just keep on crying out until... That's God's
provided way for His people. God's provided way always is to take His Word and
hold onto It until It's a-vindicated to
you. Now, do you follow me? God--a provided way... Hold on to the promise until it's made manifest to you.
