No one seemed to pay any attention to them, the men crying out with all their hearts: one here, and one there, and one over here. We're without an excuse. The Gospel's being preached. So we're without excuse.

They're--they're to be entertained, a pleasure-mad people. They just want comfort, and luxury, and things like that, and don't know that judgment's slipping right up on them all the time. They fail to see that, but they don't want it.

E-27 027 But I believe that the great calling of the revival in America has been turned down by the American people in whole. It just simply can't conceive--perceive, rather, the Word. There's been enough Gospel preached in the form of the Word across America to last this country a second garden of Eden. But they put it down. And the great evangelists, Billy Graham, Jack Schuller, many other great men, Oral Roberts, has crossed the country, preaching the Gospel, God working. Oh, He's been moving upon the people and accepting the--the Christ as their personal Saviour, go back out into wallow of the world, just like they was in the first place.

The such a thing as an intellectual faith. Here a few weeks ago in Chicago, I heard something that was on the radio that just thrilled my heart. When he said that here's what said, "As a man thinketh in his heart..." and...?... the heart. The scientist said that God got everything mixed up; there was no mental faculties in the heart to think with; he just thinks with his mind. His mind was the only thing he thinks of, and not with his heart, with his mind. But God said here; consider it... He said, "Heart"; He meant heart.

And a few weeks ago medical science found that in the center of the human heart is a teeny little place that don't have blood cells or anything around it. And they claim it's the occupation of the soul. Animals doesn't have it. So after all, God was right. Man thinks with his heart.

E-11 011 The churches are cooling off. We just might as well face that. The churches are getting worse and worse all the time. More preaching is being done than ever in the world, and less practice than we ever did in all the world.

Just looks like it just keeps cooling off. Great revivals strike the country: Men come in anointed of the Holy Spirit; they preach with everything that's within them; and the people walk right away as if nothing had ever happened, just unconcerned. Now, there's got to be a reason for that. And if you'll study This, This tells what the reason is.

Do you know the Scripture says there will be a time in the last days, when there'll be a famine strike the land, not for bread and water, but for hearing of the Word of God? And that men would go from east, west, north and south, seeking to hear the Word of God, and fail to find It? Just think of the times we're living in. And we're living in that time. I believe when the prophet spoke that, he foresaw the United States of America. 'Cause it's the only place that I know of, would meet that description in this day.

We're with Belteshazzar's big rock-and-roll party. And the church has been caught in the tide through television, through radio, through Hollywood. There we are... Real Christian women bobbing off their hair, wearing make-up on their faces, dressed in them little old dirty clothes, because reprobate people has told them there's no harm in it.

See, we're so prone to go after the gift instead of the Giver. When you see signs and wonders take place, don't notice the signs so much, but look what's behind it. It's that still small voice that speaks.

That's the reason we can't have revivals in America, is because people go after gifts instead of the Giver. That's what's the matter with the world tonight. Oh, we got if you want great crowds and audiences, you have to have a real classical Hollywood outfit with a lot of show. American people want entertainment. They don't want the true Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. So therefore, the radio and the television will give them more entertainment than the church can do it, and they stay home. All that comes out is the elect of God that's still hungering, and thirsting, and calling, and crying for the real thing of God.

You become a slave to your dressing. You can become a slave to your money. That's the only thing that you think of is to make money, grab, and put it up here. If you do that, you're a slave.

E-24 024 I'm thinking of tonight, of the great first president of this great nation that we so appreciate tonight, this great United States of America: George Washington, great man of faith, a man of prayer, a persistent man, very perseverant. And he knew what he was after. And one night he prayed almost all night long, when he seemed like the odds was against him. And he prayed till he said his body was almost wet all over from kneeling in the snow, until he got an answer from God.

And the next morning, with half of his army with not even shoes on their feet... Them was American soldiers with no shoes on, their feet wrapped in rags. The Delaware froze over in ice gorges, he was persistent that he could cross the Delaware, for he'd heard from God. No matter what the opposition was, he had heard from God. Though three musket bullets went through his coat, nothing touched him. Why? He was persistent because he knew he was right, and his achievement that he was expecting was for the right thing.

No matter what condition those men was in, how cold their feet was, he could be persistent, because he knowed he was trying to achieve something to help somebody else. And he had prayed till he'd heard from God. And he crossed the Delaware in the time of the ice floe.

And when she come by, that was the filthiest looking thing I ever seen. I thought, "God, as hard as preachers and we brethren have labored to get You a Bride, and that's the best we could do." She was twisting, holding this in front of her like one of these hula skirts of a thing, holding it in front of her parts, her lower parts like this, dancing and twisting like these kids do out here on the--on these vulgar shows that they have, twisting.
