Sanctification

ISRAEL AT THE RED SEA       JEFF IN   53-0326

24    Notice, three stages: justification by faith, sanctification through the Blood; baptism of the Holy Spirit; then perfection, glorified. The Bible said, "Those who He justified," this is to the spiritual mind, "He also glorified." Is that right? "He who He justified." Then if He justified us now, we're already glorified, in His state. Not He--He will; He hath glorified. Say, that's deep, isn't it? But that's what the Scripture says.

WITNESSES   JEFF IN    53-0405E

206    And some of the prophets said to Elisha; he said, "Do you know your master will be taken from you?"

He said, "I know it. But hold your peace." Amen. I like that. "I'm going to stay right with him, no matter what the rest of them say."

And Elijah turned around and said, "Now, you tarry here, for God's sending me to Jordan."

Three places: Justification, Gilgal; sanctification, the school of the prophet; and to the baptism of the Holy Ghost, at Jordan, where Jordan represents death. Notice. Martin Luther; John Wesley; Pentecost, down to the Jordan, dying-out time.

55    Now, watch this cell. Let's say, for instance, like a lot of time the red cancer usually hits in the womb of a woman, female bruises and so forth. Now, that... Let's take that--that fellow down now, on his cells, this--this cancer.

Now, a cancer... Everything in the natural types the spiritual. Are you aware of that? Everything in the natural types the spiritual, regardless.

For instance, like this, when--when we're born in the Body of Christ, there's three elements it takes to bring our birth. And that's the three elements that came out of the life of Christ when He died. There come from His body, water, Blood, Spirit. Is that right? Three elements, and that's the elements we go through when we're born again: justification, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Spirit. Now, that can all be in one act, but it takes... But you can be in a justified state without being sanctified. You can believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and still carry your filth with you. But you can absolutely live in a both justified and a clean holy life, and without the Holy Ghost. See, the Bible, I John 5:7 said there are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and--Father, Word, and Holy Ghost, which was the Son, and these three are one. And there's three that bear record in earth: the water, Blood, and Spirit, and they agree in one; not one, but agree in one. You can't have the Father without having the Son; you can't have the Son without having the Holy Ghost, for they are inseparable, one. The trinity is in a one.

MAKE THE VALLEY FULL OF DITCHES  CONNERSVILLE IN 53-0609E

E-26    First stage: Martin Luther stage: first stage of the journey. Second stage was the school of the prophet. Elijah went up there and he said to Elisha, " Now, you stay here, I pray thee, for the Lord is calling me to Jordan.

But Elisha was really a prophet. He said, "As the Lord lives and your soul never dies, I'll not leave you." I like that. Second stage of the journey on... God always has did that.

Notice, then he said, "I'm going to Jordan." And Elisha...

Some of this prophets there at the school said, "Do you know your master's head will be taken from you today?"

He said, "I know it, but hold your peace." He knew what was going to take place, so he followed him. And he got down to Jordan, perfect type of the church. The first stage of the journey was justification through Martin Luther: Dothan. Second stage of the journey with John Wesley, at the school of the prophet, sanctification. Now, he's going to Jordan, dying out time. Jordan means death, passing over. We're entering out of all church ages.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS     JEFF IN  54-0103E

115-55    Oh, I--I hope you won't get angry with me if I just make something real plain here to you. See? Don't do it. I--I've got to say it, because I--just keeps choking to me (You see?) to say it. Look. Now, look. Then I'm going to say this: There's a people that believe in justification by faith (See?), and they live a good, clean, holy life; they believe in sanctification too. Repeat...

Look at Judas Iscariot. Judas Iscariot was justified when he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal Saviour: Judas Iscariot. Judas Iscariot was sanctified in John 17:17 and was given power in Matthew 10 to go out and cast out devils. And Judas Iscariot come back, after he healed the sick and cast out devils, and he come back rejoicing and shouting just as much as any good holy-roller you ever seen. Is that right? The Bible said so. But when he come to Pentecost, he showed his colors. Now, watch that--that spirit.

GOD KEEPS HIS WORD   JEFF IN   57-0407M

E-29    And I said here not long ago, the Lutherans did have the torch light to the world. What happened? If you would run out in the world, you Lutheran people at one time at the first reformation, what happened to your light? What did it go out? This is the reason it went out, is because, you left God's Word. You believed that the just should live by faith, which is absolutely the truth; but there's more than that, the just shall live by faith.

Then along come the Methodist, they... You Methodist people, you picked up the torch light of sanctification, and you did hold the torch light for a great revival. That's all true, but what happened? What happened to the Methodist church? Is because you let the light go out; that's what happened. And you preached sanctification, the second definite work of grace, which is positive, the truth of the Bible, but you just let it go at that.

WE WOULD SEE JESUS     DALLAS TEXAS    58-0612

E-34    Martin Luther found It. He said, "The just shall live by faith." But what did he do? Built an organization under it. God isn't in organizations, so He just moved out. And when He did, left Luther with his organization.

And then John Wesley saw it, and away he went: sanctification, second definite work of grace. And the first thing, he organized hisself: made the Methodists. God just moved right on out.

The Pentecostals saw it in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but now you're organized so tight, God's just moving right on out and leaving you. That's right. God is not bound to any denomination or any barriers. He's only duty bound to His Word. That's all. And He does it, and He keeps His Word. He must do it.

HEAR HIS VOICE     JEFF IN   58-1005M

E-12    There's three stages of everything. There's a stage of the mortal body, the immortal body, and then the glorified body. See? Just like, other things, like Father, Son, and Holy Spirit goes in one channel, and the three makes the one. Justification, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Ghost in a channel makes the one. And--and soul, body, and spirit makes the one. And it travels in three's, and three's are one.

And take a--a three cornered piece of glass and lay it in the sun, it'll reflect the colors. Yet seven colors will come down to one. And you take red, and look through red at red, how many knows what color it'll be? White. Uh-huh. Isn't that strange that red through red looks white?

Red is the sign of redemption. And when you... God looks at our red sins through the red blood of His precious Son; they're white. See? So... But He has to look through the Blood. If it doesn't, they are sinful. So we have to be under the Blood.

E-10    Then we notice also that God's dwelling in a three room house, and that's the house that you dwell in. No person can dwell in any more than three rooms.

Sometimes I'm amazed at going and seeing houses with twenty one rooms in it, fifteen rooms. But you only live in three. That is the kitchen, the parlor, and the bedroom. You may have three bedrooms. You may have sun porches. But there is really only three. You may have a dining room. But that's just an off-breed from the kitchen. Kitchen, where you eat, the parlor, where you fellowship, and the bedroom where you rest...

And it speaks of God's order of His Church. We come into the kitchen by hearing the Word and eating the good things of God. That's justification. Then we come into sanctification where we have fellowship one with the other while the Blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin. And then we have a place of rest and security when we're baptized with the Holy Ghost: justification by faith, sanctification by the Blood, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

CHURCH DEDICATION   CLEVELAND TN    59-0708M

E-14    What is it? The congregation, the sinner comes in and hears. That's where he's eating, how he learns that Jesus died in His stead, him being a guilty sinner, subject to death, and duly deserves death. But when he hears, "Faith cometh by hearing," then he rises to his feet, and makes a testimony that he is not fit, but that he does believe and accepts the death of the Lord Jesus that He suffered in his stead, and that Jesus atoned for his sins; and he's accepting it by faith through the Word. And he has--going to change his life from this on and live right.

Yet in that heart still, desires, the root of evil to do wrong because the tree's just cut down. He can only be forgiven for what he done, not what Adam done, what he done, the sins that he did. He can ask forgiveness for what he did. But he cannot ask forgiveness for what Adam done. Then the Blood of Jesus Christ, through sanctification, comes in and cleanses that heart from all sin, and roots out every element of sin.

The word "sanctify," people stumble at it. But it's a Greek compound word which means "being cleaned and set aside for service." The altar sanctified the vessel and cleansed it, and it was set aside for service. But being set aside for service isn't in service yet. But when the Holy Spirit comes to this sanctified vessel, It fills it and puts it into service of the Lord.

WHAT WENT YE OUT TO SEE     UTICA  IN    59-1001

E-49    You know, Jacob dug a well, and the--the Philistines run away from it, so he called it "malice." And he dug another well, and the Philistines run him away from it, so they called it "strife." He dug another well, the third well. And he said, "There's room for all of us." So...

God dug a well in the Lutheran church, and they run all the rest of them away from it but Lutherans. Then He dug a well at the Methodist church under sanctification. Lutherans was justification, then sanctification He dug a well. And now, they run all away from it. Now, He's dug another well. It ain't got no names; no, there's no denomination. It's just a good pure Holy Ghost, and there's room for all of us. For you who are riding a one-hump camels, two-hump camels, three-hump camels, whatever it might be, there's room for all of us.

QA ON THE HOLY GHOST     JEFF  IN    59-1219

416-41    The Holy Spirit's what... You are believing unto Eternal Life, but when the Holy Spirit comes, It is Eternal Life. You're believing unto... You're begotten of the Spirit at sanctification, but never borned of the Spirit until the Holy Ghost comes in. That's correct. A baby's got life in the womb of the mother, little muscles are quivering; it's a life. But it's a different life when it breathes the breath of life into its nostrils. It's a different. That's what it is, it's...

My dear Methodist brother, and Pilgrim Holiness, and Nazarene, the baptism of the Holy Ghost is different from sanctification. Sanctification is the cleansing, which is preparation of life. But when the Holy Ghost comes, It is Life. Preparation is cleaning the vessel; the Holy Ghost is filling the vessel. "Sanctification" means "cleaned and set aside for service." The Holy Spirit is put it in service. You are the vessel that God's cleaned up.

CONFIRMATION OF THE COMMISSION     TEMPE AZ    62-0122

E-86    And Jesus is so close to coming to the earth now, until His power is beginning to catch the people, and winding them up, getting them ready for the bride, getting ready to be caught up in the rapture, a church that'll just fit just exactly to be taken up; through its power will draw all the rest of them that's borned again out of the earth. Jesus is coming.

As my hand against the wall would make a shadow, more that shadow gets deeper and deeper and deeper, closer my hand gets; and after while the shadow and my hand becomes one.

And the church started in Martin Luther's time under justification, under Wesley through sanctification, and now in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the Pentecostals, the restoration of the gifts. And out of that Pentecostal people He's pulling that remnant up here to show Jesus Christ, reflect His Life, just the same yesterday, today, and forever (Exactly.) when the evening Lights shine. It's exactly.

LOOKING UNTO JESUS    PHOENIX AZ    64-0122

130    Pilate took a look one day and was convinced, but his politics was too great. He just couldn't... He couldn't stand up to it.

Luther took a look, and he saw justification. He went with it. Then they organized.

Wesley come along, seen sanctification when he look at Christ, that the church should be sanctified. And went right on with sanct...

The Pentecost come along and seen the restoration of the gifts. What did they all do? Just exactly like the Catholic did: organized it, put it right back again.

O God. One day I took a look, and when I did, I saw Alpha and Omega. I saw the Beginning and the End. I saw Jesus Christ the same yesterday and... I saw a Pardoner of my sin. I seen Someone that took my place. My.

What do you see when you look?

THIS DAY THIS SCRIPTURE   JEFF IN    65-0219

24-4    And I stood there a little bit till the Holy Spirit revealed it. I said, "The entire Bible, as much as has been revealed to men through justification, sanctification, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, the baptism in Jesus' Name, and all these things has been revealed, but there is secrets that's hid inside, because the Bible's sealed with Seven Seals. I must go there to find it."
