Meek
and Quiet Spirit
FAITH AFRICA TRIP REPORT ZION IL 52-0725
E-51 And about that time, I heard my wife knocking at the door. She had come through the room. She said, "Bill, has something been wrong?" She said, "At three o'clock this morning, the baby was fretting, and I come in to wake you up." And said, "When I come there at the door..."
Now, my wife is a very spiritual woman, but this is the first time it ever happened in our home. She is very quiet-type like person, and meek. She said, "I started to go in the room, and Something said to me, 'Don't go in there, there's a vision going on.'" And she said, "For three hours, I've sit in the chair and rocked the baby, waiting."
I said, "Yes, honey." I grabbed my Bible, the big Bible there, and wrote out the vision right quick on the flyleaf in there, which many has come to the house and read it.
34-2 Our heavenly Father, I bring to Thee... As the seed went out, Lord, across the platform, the Holy Spirit dropping it into some fifty or sixty hearts or more here that raised their hands and said, "By this we are now coming to Thee..." Grant, Father, that the doors of their hearts may be swung wide open. They've been... Many of them, Father, has already got Eternal Life. They'll--they'll live forever. They have to, because You said so. That's the reason we base our thoughts so positive. They have to. You said so.
Now, Father, we pray that, in Jesus' Name, that You'll bring them into a closer fellowship. They've been tossed about, Satan beating them. They can hear the groans and whines of the devil, always tempting them to do things wrong, and to say things wrong, and to listen to everything. Father, we pray that the veil will drop between them and the world today, that they'll be hid away in Christ, never no more to roam; stay right there in His glory, every day, reading the Bible, praising Him, meek, humble, quiet, Spirit-filled Christians. Grant it, Lord. We commend them to Thee now, as we commit them also. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and for His glory. Amen.
There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;
And sinners, plunge beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
155 Won't you come up now? Won't you come up, you who know better? The Bible said, "If you know to do good, and do it not, to you it's more than sin." Won't you come? You know you're wrong. Make your way up, kneel around the altar, and tell God you're sorry for the way you've treated Him. Let the Holy Spirit come back, make you meek, and gentle, and quiet again. Won't you? Remember, if you die, and He's gone for you, there be nobody to plead your case. He's wanting you to stand for Him this morning. God bless you, my brother.
156 Waiting... Is this it, just fifteen in the church that really feels that you've been condemned? You've lived a peaceful, meek, gentle, quiet life? Now, this is directed by the Holy Spirit. You're forgiving, have no enemies, living apast, above this condemnation of sinners? You don't live like the heathens, you live different? Your life's all patterned different? The gentle Holy Spirit setting on the throne of your heart, making you live peaceful and quiet and loving, around all people? Your neighbors and all know, and all your associates know that you're a gentle, quiet, meek, humble Christian? The Dove of God is with you? You sure? This may be your last opportunity. All right.
160 That's what's the matter people don't receive the Holy Ghost when they're baptized; they just don't thoroughly repent. God's trying to give them the Holy Ghost. He wants you to be meek and gentle, quiet. That's the reason you get up with that same selfishness in your heart. Oh, you might get up, shouting, speaking in tongues, or any, that wouldn't make you have the Holy Ghost. You got to get up from there a different person. You got to get up from there gentle, quiet, and meek, humble, God's Spirit dwelling with you. Next year, look back down the trail and see how far you've come, see you're gaining ground all the time. That's the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, meekness, gentleness, patience, faith. Now, just repent and tell God you want that right now, be real good.
Little girl, you there, honey, you do the same thing. Bless you, your mother standing with her hands on you.
179 Won't you keep coming now.
To... (That's right, just tear right loose, come on up.), to be like...
What are you going to do? Who's going to stand for you, maybe tonight? Who's going to stand for you when death comes up your sleeve? No matter what you done, the Holy Spirit's setting right there close to you. That's Him wanting you to come.
All through life's journey from earth to Glory,
Just repent; say, "God, I'm sorry. I--I wouldn't want to do that. You won't stand for me if I don't stand for You now. And I want You to stand for me, and I'm standing for You from today on. I'm going to live like a Christian ought to. I'm going to change my ways; I'm going to be gentle and quiet; I'm going to let everybody do their own talking, everything. I'm going to just live meek and quiet before You." No matter how long you professed to be a Christian, what church you belong to, that has nothing to do with it. Come right on. God bless you. Move right on out, child.
182 God's talking to you now. If you believe me to be His servant, the Holy Spirit spoke to me this morning, said, "Make that call; there's many down there." This is the day; this is the time. There's about five or six more back there, really should come now. Remember, brother, sister, I'm looking right at you; I see those dark shadows hanging over you. Better come right on.
To be like Jesus, don't you want to be like Him, gentle, quiet, meek, humble? God bless you, young man. God bless you, dad with the baby. God bless you, sister. God bless you, sinner friend. That's right. Move right up, sis; come right on out; just find yourself a place. God bless you.
Sister dear, you got a lot to be thankful for, laying bound in a bed, dying, here you are walking, down the altar. God bless your tender heart.
WORKINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PRINCE ALBERT SK 56-0816
E-43 I was preaching the other night on the--the Lamb and the Dove. And when the Dove came down and settled on the Lamb, what if the Lamb would've snorted like a wolf? What would've happened? The Dove would have take her flight.
And that's what's the matter with you people up here in Canada. Not only that, but around everywhere. You were lambs, but you got to arguing and fussing and drawing denominational barriers, and the dove just took her flight and went away. That's right. You don't have the love like you ought to have. They don't have it in America. I don't know where it's at.
But long ago, you remember
when your heart used to be so tender and pure before God? Oh, you didn't
mind the troubles, "My, it's all right. Just let it go on." But when...
The first thing you know, when you got that temper up, said, "I'll get
back at him," the Dove took her flight. The Holy Spirit cannot stand
nothing but gentleness. God's gentle, and peace, and loving.
No matter how--how much you know, how much theology you know, and how you can stick your chest out, and how well you can preach, that doesn't mean nothing. If that gentle, quiet, loving Spirit of God doesn't rest on you, it's all gone. You're nothing.
No matter how many gifts you can show, no matter, though... Paul said, "Though I can speak in tongues like men and angels, I could have enough faith to move mountains, and not have that gentle, meek love, I am nothing." That's where your trouble lays. See? That's it.
328-228 O God, grant it to them this hour, while they wait, waiting for the blessing of God to come upon them. Take all of the temper, all of the world away from them, and create in them a new heart. You said, "I'll take the old heart away, and put in a heart of flesh. And I'll put My Spirit in that heart, and they shall walk in My statutes and keep My commandments," because it's an ordinance of love and not of duty. It's of love, and love constrains us to do it. It's a duty of love to constrain us. It's our duty to follow love. And I pray, God, that You'll give it to every heart that raised their hand tonight.
And those who did not raise their hand, may they now by grace raise their hands to accept You, and to be filled with Your Spirit in this meek, sweet, quiet, humble way, be full of grace, go out of here as a changed person. How the birds will sing different, and how everybody will be different, after this hour, O Lord Most High.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of earth,
Heaven and earth are full of Thee,
Heaven and earth are praising Thee,
O Lord Most High.

E-83 And the new birth is the
same thing. It's a mess. But it comes life out of that mess. Only way you can
receive life, is through a birth. It's messy, but it makes life. People try to
dodge it. They don't want to wash the manicure off of their face, some of them,
or... What is it you call that stuff? Not manicure, mascara. That's what
it is. Ever what... I don't know that crazy stuff. You'd look a whole lot
prettier if you wouldn't wear it, and--and... Yes. If you'll try a little Acts
2 and 4, it'll beat all that Max Factor ever could make. I'll tell you that. If
you'll just try a little of that, it'll be an eternal beauty, a sweet, meek,
quiet spirit.
That's what this woman had.
That's what Esther had when she come before the king. That's the reason she
overrun the other girls, because she come adorning herself with a sweet spirit
before him.
Brother Branham: Questions: Should a Christian woman wear simple jewelry, as necklaces or pearls?
Well, sister, I know this means a
lot to you, and it means a lot for me for you to place your confidence I'd tell
you the truth. Now remember, the Bible said, "When you adorn, do not
adorn with--with costly jewels, and pearls, and all kinds of wearing of
jewelry, but let that be the adorning of a peace, and quiet, and meek spirit
(which I just quoted), which is a great price before the Lord."
Now, I don't mean by that, sister, that if you had a pin... Now, this is me, not the Lord. If you had a pin that you wanted to wear, or a little necklace your husband give you, or maybe your--something like that that you wore, now, to me, I don't think that's bad. Now, that's just me. Now remember, I make myself clear; that's my opinion. But I think it's the approach to it; it's the way you do it. See? It's the motive behind it. And when you see it's getting ahold of you, then leave the thing alone. But I think if you wore your wedding ring...
161 Notice, if you pass your mind through a thinking woman's Filter, you'll come out with a holy woman's dress. That's right. You'll come out, brother, with a holy man's look. Now, that's just one thing. Everything that you do, pass it through the Filter of God's Word, see if it's right or wrong.
You'll come out with a holy woman's dress, with long hair, decently dressed, a quiet, humble spirit, not up and brawling, fighting and carrying on. A quiet, meek spirit, which is a great treasure from God... The Bible said so.
Now, I want to ask you something out in the lands... We're going to close in a few minutes.
