057 Notice. The Son of God, the
Spirit of God, is in the man. So God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself. God is a Spirit. He had no
hands till He become Jesus. He had no feet, arms, legs, and so forth, till He
become Jesus. He manifested... No man has seen the Father at any time, but
the only Begotten has declared Him. He, God, dwelt in the body of Christ. It
ought to be striking. It ought to make men wonder. He could've come down from
heaven, right down the corridors of heaven, with a full Angel salute, if He
wanted to. He could've been borned a full matured man. He could come down with
all the pomp and glory of heaven, but He didn't choose that. He come to a
stable, borned over a--a manure pile. And little
Jehovah crying in a manger, little Jehovah playing as a boy, little
Jehovah toiling as a man, He--He crossed His cast with us. God
become human.
When Jesus Christ was
borned, God was human in--on earth, manifesting God, what He was. He toiled and
labored, and felt for the teen-ager. He--He went through every temptation that
we go through. God did it, that He might do His own judgment justice. He--His
judgment is got to be justice. If there's no justice, what good does it do to
have judgment? And if there's no judgment without penalty, then it's not
judgment yet. So he took the penalty of His own judgment, and died as a sinner,
to condemn the sin of the world, that we, through His justice, might have
reconciliation back to the throne of God in fellowship, like we did in the
garden of Eden. If that's not the Gospel, I don't know it. That's exactly
right. The precious Son of God. Sure God was in His Son.
53
033 It ought to be real
attractive to the people. Little Jehovah
crying like a baby, God made flesh in a Package. God, Who covers all
space and time, was before there was a world, or a star, or a molecule, wrapped
Himself in a little Package and was laid in a manger in a stable, where the
manures of the cattle and sheep, and...?... up over that stable, and in this
little manger, on straw or hay. Jehovah
was laying there, crying like a baby. Can you imagine it?
E-74
074 But what was it? It was Jehovah, little Jehovah crying as a
baby. Could they expect that terrible Jehovah that thundered off of Mount
Sinai, that set the mountain on fire, that opened the Red Sea, become a Baby in
a stable? Oh, that--their theology couldn't swallow that. No,
indeedy, not their Messiah.
They said, "When God
sends a Messiah, no doubt He'll lower the corridors of heaven down. He'll have
a ten-million angel salute come down. He'll come right to the temple that Moses
left for us--or the--Solomon built for us here. And He'll come right straight
to this temple, and He'll accept us right here. And our high priest that we
have chosen, our chief man, our state representative, or whatever it is, He'll
come to him, and say, 'I have arrived. Here I am. This is Me. I'm the Messiah.
Don't you recognize Me? See the corridors I've come down? I come from
heaven.'" That's the way they had it figured out.

078 God came to the earth in
the form of Man, and--and--and unfolded Himself, stretched His tent, from being
Jehovah God to become Man to stand the shame and curse. Little Jehovah God in a manger, under a pile of manure, down
there crying in a manger; God, the Creator of heavens and earth, standing there
in human flesh to take the death of--of your sins upon Himself, that He might
free you to be a more of a Christian than what that deer was a mother. How can
you reject such matchless love? Then, besides that, He wrote His Word. That's
enough. You couldn't take my word, you have to... It'd be all right, but not
Him. He ascended on High and give gifts back to men. He come back in the form of the Holy Spirit, same God to open your
heart, by the atoning Blood.
E-14
014 He was a man when He died
on the cross crying for mercy; He was a man. But when He broke the seals of
death, hell, and the grave, rose up on the third day, He proved He was more
than a man. He was God in a man.
No
wonder every man that's ever amounted to anything believed that. All poets and
everything that's ever amounted to anything believes that. That's right. He was
more than a man; He was God. Now, God in His own Son built a body that
He lived in, tabernacled, changed His strength.
Just think, Jehovah
laying in a manger over a manure pile in a barn, crying like a little
baby. Those little baby hands, little
Jehovah, coming down and inveiled
Himself in that form.
Look
at the--the Jehovah out playing as a teenage boy. Look at Jehovah
building in a carpenter shop, Jehovah hanging on the cross. Then
when He rose up, He proved He was Jehovah. That's right. God in Christ,
reconciling the world to Himself... He was more than a philosopher; He was more
than a prophet. He was Emmanuel.
221
113 As You said to Your great
prophet Daniel, "And those that know their God in the last days, shall do
exploits. And they that turn many to righteousness shall outshine the stars
forever and forever."
Lord God, great Creator,
Who was so willing to come to earth in the form of Jesus, to let man know what
God was... And You were the only One Who could take the penalty of death; no
Angel, no substitute could do it. You was the One Who placed the penalty, and
You alone could justly take it away. And being Spirit, You could not die. But
You were made flesh so You could die, and become a Lamb that You might take
away the sin of Your Redeemed, that You had to redeem them by Your own Blood.
Oh, the story is so great,
Lord, it goes over the head of so many. To think: "Little Jehovah
laying in a manger; He had to live like a baby. Little Jehovah borned in a
stable. Little Jehovah, playing with children on the street. Little Jehovah, the
teenager. Little Jehovah, the
schoolboy. And Jehovah, the mighty."
You took all these places. And then, Jehovah, the Lamb, Jehovah, the
Prophet. And You become all of this that You might suffer the penalty of sin
and to give to us Eternal Life.
