E-9
Waiting... Sacrificial Lamb's been killed. We take His body under the
Blood, safe, and O God, waiting for the midnight hour to come when the
"march out" is called. We're going out some of these nights to the
promised land, girded, shod with the Gospel of peace, the full armor of--on the
whole armor of the Gospel, going forward. Help us, dear God, to buckle up tight
tonight, examine the post and the lintel to see if the Blood's there, then walk
forward to challenge every enemy, knowing that our great Chief Captain, the One
that met Joshua after crossing the river, said, "I'm the Captain of the
Host of the Lord..." O God, Joshua trembled. He knew that You were
leading.
And we know tonight, the
Morning Star is over us. Banners are gleaming, the colors streaming. And we're
bound to win if we trust in Him Who will not fail us.
Grant it tonight, Lord, that
many things may be done. Send Your Spirit. Give people faith to... Sometimes it
startles them, Father. They
can't realize the--the Presence, this great thing, the Jehovah of the Old
Testament, Jesus of the New, the Holy Spirit of this day, standing here
tonight to make good any promise that He made. Bless us, Lord.
Then send Your gifts, which
is secondarily to all this, that It might work to bring the people to edify the
Church, to bring us to realization of Your Presence. For we ask it in the Name
of Thy Son, Jesus. Amen.
E 33 Anyhow, Brother Bosworth got up there and
said, "I have (I forget how many) different Scriptures written here, Mr.
Best, of Christ's present attitude in the New Testament towards the sick and
afflicted. If you can take the Testament, or the Bible anywhere, and disprove
anyone of them, I will walk off the platform like a gentleman." He was
afraid to take the paper up. Brother Bosworth was astonished at him.
He said, "Then I will ask you one question. You
answer me yes or no, it'll settle the thing forever."
"All right."
He said, "Was the redemptive Names
of Jehovah applied to Jesus, yes, or no?" That settled it. If He's
Jehovah-jireh, He's also Jehovah-rapha. All...?... If He was God's provided
sacrifice, if He isn't Jehovah-jireh, then He is not the Saviour, He isn't the
provided Sacrifice. That settled it all together.
E-63
You love Him? What am I trying to say now? Jesus is here with us. I've
kept you longer than I should, yes, way longer. I'm so sorry. Forgive me, just
enthused. But that you might understand that the same God... How many believes
that the Pillar of Fire, the Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel was
the Angel of the Covenant? Let's see your hand. That was our Lord Jesus. Is
that right? It was Christ, the Anointed.
Well, look. He appeared to
Moses, but it wasn't because He was with Moses. He's with the whole church. Is
that right? Could it be possible that this same Pillar of Fire that we see
taken here now, could that be the Angel of the Covenant? Could it be our Lord
Jesus Christ? Could the Angel of the Lord Who appeared to Paul out there, Who
told Peter on the house top, all these things, like He did in the days of
Agabus, and so forth? Isn't that the very analysis, the very symptoms, the very
same thing that He did in the days, in the New Testament? Then look,
Christians, Holy Ghost filled people look this way. Then the sign of the Old Testament, Jehovah God,
the Pillar of Fire, is with us. And the same God that was with the
apostles, our Lord Jesus Christ, is with us undisputably through science,
through the world, through the Christians, through the church, through
everything is perfectly a vindicated. It's the same today.
The both New and Old Testaments... God of the Old Testament was Jesus
of the New, and the Holy Spirit of today. You know that. Don't you believe that? To blaspheme
the Holy Ghost today, is just the same penalty, or worst, than blaspheming
Jesus Christ, or God the Father. Don't you believe that?
E-11 Now, I believe that
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And I believe that in
the beginning God made man in His own image, and God is a Spirit. And God made
man spirit-man. Then He made him in the dust of the earth. Now, I believe that
man in the beginning, well, led the animals of the earth like the Holy Spirit
ought to be leaving the--leading the Church today.
There was no man to till the
soul, so then He put him in five senses. Them five senses was not to contact
God. That was see, taste, feel, smell, and hear. They were to contact his
earthly home. But by his spirit he contacts God.
Man lost his origin and
he... back there, and fell from grace. And when he did, then God came down and
was made in the image of man, to redeem man back to God. And God was in Christ
reconciling the world to Himself. And the God of the Old Testament, Jesus Christ of the New, and the Holy
Spirit of this day is the same Jehovah God living down through the age. See?
E-10
Now, God has to keep His Word. His very law would express that of Him.
If you take hydrogen (one--one--one part of hydrogen, it's still water, you
see), and two parts of oxygen, now if that goes together, the law of chemistry
and science will make water every time. It has to. If it made it in the
beginning, it has to make it now.
And the same thing by God. If--if God made a law, spoke His Word, He's
got to keep It. In the Old Testament, in the New Testament, forever He has to
keep His Word. If He was Jehovah-jireh there, He was Jehovah-jireh in Genesis,
He was with the prophets, He was with the law, He was in Jesus, He was in the
early church, He has to be now. And when people would believe Him in Genesis in the law, in Christ, in
the church, His law compels Him to do the same thing that He did in the
beginning. If it isn't, He did wrong in the first place. See? He has to do the
same to be God.
As I have said to you, what
good does it do us to have a--a--a God of history if He isn't the same God
today. See? It would do us no good.
It's just like in our
country; our first President was George Washington. Well, that's history. It
does no good today. We have to have another President. See? He was all right in
his day. But just Washington alone, he--he's gone. He won't do today. See what
I mean?
E-27
In the Old
Testament He was Jehovah-jireh, the Lord's provided Sacrifice. He was Jehovah-rapha,
the Lord that healeth thee. In the Old Testament in His compound names He was
the Healer of Jehovah-rapha. In the New Testament He's Jesus Christ the same
yesterday, today, and forever, the preparation.
We could take it from both
the Old and New Testament, pat them together. That's the reason, mostly, I got
to the Old Testament to pick out a text, because I bring it over to the New
Testament, and pull it together, and show you, it's the same Breasted God. The
same One that escaped Daniel from death by sending an Angel is the same God
that's in here this morning. Is the same God that gave blind Bartimaeus his
sight, that healed that little German girl. He never fails. He's God Jehovah.
He can't. He makes a preparation. And He's provided a way for everyone of us.
He's provided an escape.
And He told Abraham, "I
am the Breasted One. Now, Abraham, the only thing you have to do is just keep
nursing, nursing."
E-37
You've got about twenty eight hundred years of experiences to look back
through others and see what He's done. And if the Old Testament provided that,
how much better does the new covenant, a better thing. That we without them
would not be made perfect... or them without us, rather, would not be made
perfect. God has provided. I trust that you will believe it with all your heart
as we pray.
Now, Father, we thank Thee
for being Jehovah-jireh, the Lord's provided Sacrifice. Now, I ask You today,
Lord Jesus, that You'll give grace abundantly to all the people that are here.
And let them know that You provided a resurrection in form there for Isaac, who
had come to end of his road. But You provided a way for him.
And You provided a way of
the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and provided a Holy Ghost knowing that the
time would come when people would try to explain away all the supernatural of
Your Word. But You provided the Holy Ghost to carry on Your work, doing the
same thing that You did when You were here in a corporeal body.
And I pray today that You'll
bless exceedingly, and heal the sick, and save the lost. Grant it, Lord, for we
ask it through Christ's Name.
E-72
Look at the God of Moses, Who opened up the Red Sea, took the Hebrew children
in the fiery furnace, Daniel out of the lion's den, Lazarus out of the grave.
"I have power..." God raised Him up; that's true. But He said,
"I have power to lay My life down. I have power to take it up again."
Amen. How great Thou art. "Trust Me; I am the same yesterday, today, and
forever."
Them big wings... Find out that Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah
of the Old. Them big wings, fanning up and down that rushing mighty wind,
feeding in that, oh, how I like to lay in them breezes. How great Thou art, how
great Thou art. Stirring up the nest (yes, sir), getting it ready...
24
014 And I looked again, and
there it was, growing taller and taller, three rainbows. I took off my hat. I
set down my gun. I started walking towards it with my hands up. Something just
seemed to tell me, "This is close enough." I was going to set down
and take off my boots that I had on, to see if I could walk a little closer.
But I got within a few yards of it, and I seen the color of it, misting like a
fog moving around. I stood still for a few moments. It was coming right out of
the top of the little mountain. And I watched, as the three (one to the right,
one to the left, and one in the center) running down into one bowl like... Ever
what it was, was alive. It was moving and making Its motions. And I stood there
just as it was graying dawn.
I turned and looked again,
and I screamed out, "O God, what would You have Your servant know?"
Just then the Spirit of the Lord came in and said, "Jesus of the New Testament
is Jehovah of the Old, He only changed His mask from Spirit to man."
That was confirming, of course, my message of Him, letting me know, assured
that these thirty-one years hasn't been in vain.
E-11
Said, "Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old. He's just
changed His veil." Well, I set studying that; I find out that same word
where He changed His countenance in the Greek did mean changing His mask, not
exactly His veil but His mask. It come to the place He was transformed. See?
That means He changed His way. He was God-Jehovah. And God-Jehovah changed Himself from a Spirit and
became a Man. He's the same Jehovah God. Which that was the Father, and this is
the Son, being the same Person.
And how... Then He gave me something to speak. If
the Lord's willing, I aim to be at that same tree in the morning, about
daylight.
And I'm... I hope He appears
to me again. I--I ought--trust that He will, so that I'll can know what to do.
I got a burden on my heart for the people. As I see the hour approaching and
know that people are not ready, and a lot of my loved ones, I don't know what
to do or say. And I'm going up to see what He will tell me.
262
137 Let's pray. Jesus of
Nazareth, as that great Voice spoke yonder that day a few weeks ago standing by
the side as I was crossing over that log around the tree, and that Spirit that
came down through them treetops and said, "Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the
Old"... O God, on this Rock I stand, all other grounds is sinking
sand, all other grounds is sinking sand.
For some thirty years, Lord,
I've cried out through this valley here. That Message, I haven't moved one inch
from it, from where I started, just the same Message, the same thing, calling
people back, not to sensation, but to a experience of meeting God and being
borned of His Spirit. Oh, what will be left but a judgment. Them whose rejecting
that Message, Lord, there's nothing left.
86
037 Same yesterday, now here
was, we find the Hebrew writer Paul, saying, "Jesus Christ the same
yesterday," speaking to the Hebrews. And we all know that Jehovah of the
Old Testament was Jesus of the New, and it's the Holy Spirit of today. It's
just the same God just manifested in three different offices. And so, the same
God... And all that God was, He poured into Christ, all Christ was He poured
into the Church. So, see, you can find quickly what He is, "The same
yesterday, today, and forever."
E-11 But one day on the road down to Damascus a Light, Pillar of
Fire, came down from heaven. And Paul, being a Jew, was acquainted that this
Light, Pillar of Fire, had been the thing that had--the God that had led his
people out of Egypt. They had followed this Pillar of Fire. So being a Jew, he
said to Him quickly, "Lord, Who art Thou?" He knew Him as Lord, but
"Who art Thou?"
And the voice came back from the Pillar of Fire,
"I am Jesus, and it's hard for you to kick against the pricks." From
that time on, Paul knew that the Jehovah of the Old Testament was Jesus of the
New. And he had something that he could hold to, and that's how he could write
that great book of Hebrews.
129
060 Paul, he had a sign. Let's
watch him. Do you believe Paul was a prophet? He certainly was. Now, notice.
Paul came on the scene and saw a sign. What kind of a sign did he see? A Pillar
of Fire on his road to Damascus, being a Jew. Jesus had been died, crucified,
rose, ascended into heaven. And Paul was on his road down to Damascus, when a
great Light struck him down. And he cried, "Lord, Who are You?"
He said, "I'm
Jesus." And he was told that he was called to be a chosen vessel, a chosen
vessel.
Now, notice. What did Paul
have the rest of them didn't have? He had the abundance of the revelation of the
Word of God, 'cause it was
Paul who recognized that Jesus of the New Testament was Jehovah of the Old.
Hallelujah. I could say something here. He had the revelation of it. He wrote
it and revealed it, because God permitted it to be added to the Bible. And the
Word comes only by the Bible, by the prophets. And so, then God revealed to
Paul, and he wrote the letters inspired, and God put them in the Bible. Oh, my.
Revealed that He is Christ of the Old Testament because he met Him.
E-40 God never did deal
with a group nowhere in the Scriptures. He deals with one individual, because
every man is different from the other, every man. Our thumbs are different; our
noses are different; our actions are different. He gets one man till He can get
him perfectly in harmony, till he can become that Word.
That's the reason Paul, he said, "Except I get
exalted above the abundance of the revelation, there was given to me a
messenger of Satan." See, Matthew wrote, Luke wrote, Mark wrote, all them.
But they just followed Jesus and wrote what He said. But Paul had the
revelation of Who He was. See? That's the thing. You see, his revelation was so
great He let him write the Bible, like Moses of the Old Testament. That great
man Paul, that revelation
he had... He knew that Jesus of the New Testament was Jehovah of the Old.
He had the revelation of it, and could place it to the Hebrews, to the--and
also the--to--to the Romans, and to the Ephesians, and--and all. He--he wrote
these letters.
INVESTMENTS THE BEAUMONT TX 64-0314
E-45 Now to prove that to you, he was a Hebrew, and he would have
never worshipped anything, or called anything "Lord," 'less he knowed
it was Lord. And he knew, as a teacher, under Gamaliel, that the angel of the
Lord, which was the Logos that went out of God, which was Christ, that led them
through the wilderness was in the form of a Light--a Pillar of Fire. And when
It struck him down and he looked up and seen it there, he said,
"Lord." Now, he'd have never called nothing but that
"Lord."
But being a Hebrew, he knowed that that was Jehovah.
That's the reason he had the revelation, could say that Jesus of the New
Testament was Jehovah of the Old. That was his revelation, 'cause he'd seen
Jehovah. And he said, "Lord, Who are You?"
He said, "I'm Jesus.
And it's hard for you to kick against the pricks." And he took out a
policy.
Compare the two men together, one rich young Hebrew
that wanted to hold to the traditions, another one that was convinced. One of
them seen Him as a man--that God was made flesh in order to die, to take away
the sin. The blood of lambs and things, the life was in there couldn't come on
the believer because it's a lamb's life. It has no soul in it: animal life. But
this was God, Himself.
49
025 Notice, Jehovah of the Old Testament is
Jesus of the New Testament. See? He's the same God, just changing His form.
Now, someone said the other
day, a--a--a Baptist minister out in Tucson, "How can you say that--that
Jesus and God would be the same Person?"
I said, "Well, it--it's
very easy if you just let your own thinking get away and think the Bible terms
of it. They are the self same Being. God is a Spirit; Jesus is the body that He
was veiled in." See? I said, "Like in my home, to my wife I am her
husband. And I have a young daughter, Rebekah; I am her father. And I have a
grandson, and his name is Paul; I am his grandfather. I am husband, father, and
grandfather. And my wife has no claims on me as father or grandfather, she has
claims on me alone as husband. And my daughter has no claims on me as husband
or grandfather; she is my child. (See?) But yet all these three persons is the
same person. (See?) That's God: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is just the
dispensation claim. God is same, the same God. God changed Himself, changes
His--His form."
6-3
016 And we find that Jehovah
of the Old Testament was just Jesus of the New Testament. And--and Dr. Scofield
here, we find that his word changing from form, we find the word "en
morphe" in Greek, which means "the unseen was made visible."
Something that cannot... We know it's there. It could be--cannot be seen, but
yet, we know that it's there. And when He changed His form of the en morphe,
which means that He changed from supernatural to natural... And He just changed
His mask.
And otherwise, it's like a
drama; He was acting. In--in the Greek when they would change their mask, maybe
one play--one player might've acted in several different parts. And my daughter
(present here)... They just had at the high school, a--a drama. And they... One
boy, that I knowed, played about four parts, but he would go behind the stage
and change his--his mask in order to come out to impersonate another character.
81 052 God,
down through the age, hewing away by the patriarchs, and made His platform, and
brought them up from the different things that He'd lay this foundation upon.
Upon this He begin to build His Word (the prophets), and then finally come out
to the perfect Prophet, the perfect Foundation, the perfect vision God had.
And now, in order for this to speak (He is the
Word.)--and for the Word to speak He must come into the Image. And then for the
image to speak, it's got to be smitten. He comes into the Image. And then in
order to speak, the perfect Redeemer... All the types of the Old Testament was met in Him.
As I said the
other day, Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the New. Yes!
122
068 Jesus of the New Testament was Jehovah of the Old.
Exactly right. I believe (as I was telling you here now, sometime ago or
somewhere in a meeting; it might not have been here) "Jehovah of the Old
Testament is Jesus of the New." Do you remember the--the--the--when I was
going squirrel hunting that morning. And there it was, them three big stems run
into one out there, right on the mountain, me standing there looking at it. And
I drew up close and took off my hat, laid down my rifle. Got up there, and a
voice shook the woods, said, "Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the
Old. Remain faithful." So... Right below there is where the squirrels
appeared then, come into existence when there was none there. See? That's
truth. See? It's truth. So God knows, before Who I stand, it's the truth...?...
That's right. It's the truth.
Right down in Kentucky...
And there's people setting right here tonight was present when it happened
again, the same thing. Yes, we know that it's the truth. Jesus of the Old
Testament...

Like when the Chinese people first come over here, they couldn't read
nor write our language. But they were great laundrymen. And so they would...
You go down to the Chinese laundry. He just got him some clear old white tags.
He couldn't read one thing, and he knowed you couldn't read it if he wrote it.
So when you come, he just took this little white piece of paper, something on
this order, say, right here--and he tore it a certain way like that. Now, he
give you one piece of paper, and he kept the other piece of paper. And then
when you come back for your laundry, he said, "Let me see your piece of
paper." And he got them; if it matched, that was it. You got your dirty
clothes back clean.
And Jesus matched every prophecy, every design of, "Jehovah of the
Old Testament is Jesus of the New." He matched everything. Let me say this
with godly fear and respects, but love, but sincerity, and knowing where I'm
standing, the message of this hour has matched everything the Bible spoke of
for this hour. Now, if you got some dirty clothes, turn them in. Are you washed
in the Blood of the Lamb?
E-56 But you see, He didn't come to reflect them organizations of
that day. He didn't come to reflect sectarian religion. He came to reflect the
Father, and the Father was the Word. Amen. Now I feel real religious. He came
to reflect the Father's Word. God said He would be there, and there He was, the
perfect masterpiece of God's great handiwork. Oh, my.
He was the perfect
reflection of Him. He will--reflected everything that the--that God had spoke
of. He reflected what Adam said about Him; He reflected about all the prophets
said, about all the patriarchs said. Everything that He said, He was the
fulfillment of the Word. All types was fulfilled in Him. He became Jehovah of the New Testament.
He was the Old Testament Jehovah. The Word, then, which was in the Pillar of
Fire, was made manifest and dwelt among us. Jehovah of the Old Testament became
Jesus of the New Testament. He was a perfect reflection of God.
Oh, if the church today
could just reflect that first church, when the Holy Ghost fell on the day of
Pentecost. If the Christians today could reflect. We are a hybrid bunch
to what they were.
27
013 Well, it all happened up
where the Angels of the Lord appeared to me one morning, and them squirrels was
spoke into existence. All of you remembers when it taken place. And also just
at the top the hill where I was standing before--just before preaching the Seven
Church Ages, going hunting one morning before daylight, there stood... I
thought the sun was coming up, about four o'clock in the morning. Unusual, I
seen that Light, and I turned around, and there stood the Seven Golden
Candlesticks, standing up there on top the hill, with like a rainbow was coming
up through the pipes and feeding out.
Immediately after that, the Lord Jesus appeared to us, and right then I
heard a Voice that said, "The Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the
New." And
there He was after while revealed after those Seven Golden Candlesticks. Then
notice that. How many remembers that text? I wrote it on the back of a--of a
box of--of cartridges I had in my pocket, "Jehovah of the Old Testament is
Jesus of the New." God in heaven knows that that was true.
26-3 REVELATION OF JESUS
CHRIST - CHURCH AGE BOOK CPT 1
Now that is the revelation: Jesus Christ is God. The Jehovah of the Old
Testament is the Jesus of the New. No matter how hard you try, you can't prove there
are THREE Gods. But it also takes a revelation by the Holy Spirit to make you
understand the truth that He is One. It takes a revelation to see that the
Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New. Satan crept into the church
and blinded the people to this truth. And when they were blinded to it, it
wasn't long until the Church of Rome stopped baptizing in the Name of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
332-3 LAODICEAN CHURCH
AGE -
CHURCH AGE BOOK CPT.9
I want you to watch this
carefully now and see something really sweet and beautiful. I said this is His
end-time revelation of Himself. When the day of grace closes, then the
millennium comes very shortly thereafter, doesn't it? Well, read with me Isaiah
65:16-19. "That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself
in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God
of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid
from Mine eyes. For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former
shall not be remembered nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice forever
in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her
people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem and joy in My people: and the
voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying."
This is about New Jerusalem. This is the millennium. But as we go into the
millennium, hear what He says about being a certain kind of God, Verse 16,
"That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God
of truth." Yes, that is true, but the real translation is not "God of
truth". It is "God of the AMEN". So we read it, "shall
bless himself in the God of the AMEN, and he that sweareth in the earth shall
swear by the God of the AMEN; because the former troubles are forgotten, and
because they are hid from My eyes. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new
earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye
glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create, for, behold, I create
Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
and joy in My people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her;
nor the voice of crying," Hallelujah. Here is Jehovah of the Old
Testament, "the God of the Amen". Here is Jesus of the New Testament,
"the God of the Amen". Hear, Oh Israel, the Lord thy God is ONE God.
There it is again, the Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New.
"Hear, Oh, Israel the Lord thy God is ONE God." The New Testament
does not reveal ANOTHER God, it is a further revelation of the ONE AND SAME
GOD. Christ did not come down to make Himself known. He did not come to reveal
the Son. He came to reveal and make known the Father. He never talked about two
Gods; He talked about ONE God. And now in this last age, we have come back to the capstone revelation, the
most important revelation of Godhead in the whole Bible, that is, JESUS IS GOD,
HE AND THE FATHER ARE ONE: THERE IS ONE GOD, AND HIS NAME IS THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST.
