E-23 023 She was going along, kind of helping me sometimes with the sick along, like that, because she's a very brilliant woman. And we were going down, and It--Something said, "Turn to your left." I heard it just the same as you hear me. I turned to the left.
Margie said to my wife, said, "What's the matter?"
Said, "Now, just let him go."
I went on down. We went walking. Down to the left I stopped in front of a place called Millers Cafeteria. I wondered why. Something said, "Go in here."
I went in the cafeteria, got some little breakfast and prunes and so forth, and set down. My wife said, "You're sure in a big place like this to get trapped." People gathered around.
And I started to eat. And as I asked the blessing, I heard somebody say, "Praise the Lord."
I looked over and a poor old mother was raising up, wiping her eyes.
Margie said, "You better go," said, "if you don't the whole group..."
I said, "Just a moment, it's the Holy Spirit leading."
She come over there and said, "Brother Branham," said, "I followed meeting after meeting trying to get my brother in the line. I couldn't do it." Said, "His heart's got so bad now it's pushed through the diaphragm." Said, "We was examined a few days ago before coming, doctor said he just had a little while to live. We sold our cow to get the money to come up here from Texas." Said, "I've been to several meetings; we sold all we got." Said, "I seen I couldn't get it, there's too many there. I've had a card several times, but the number's never been called." She said, "But I was praying last night all night and fasting." She said that, "About daylight this morning I woke up, and I had a dream. And I dreamed that I should come down here to the cafeteria and wait at nine o'clock."
I looked at my watch, and it just exactly nine. Said, "Bring him here."
You know what happened, don't
you? The Lord marvelously healed him. Leading of the Spirit. He works on
both ends.
E-48 048 I said, "Auntie, my name is Branham. Did you ever hear of me before?"
She said, "No, sir, I never heard of you."
Oh, my. I said, "Auntie, I pray for the sick."
She said, "Do you?"
I said--I said, "Can I come in to see your boy?"
She said, "Sure,
parson." And when she raised that little old gate back with a chain on it
and a plow point for a weight, for a weight behind it... I've went into kings
palaces, and I went into big fine homes, but I never was more welcome than I
was when I walked in that little gate that morning, under that trestle. She
walked just as happy. She knew something had to happen; God was on both
ends of the line.
E-17 017 I said, "Well, Brother Wright, I'm not going to eat supper." I said, "Georgie Carter is going to be healed completely in the next few minutes." She was about eight miles away.
He said, "What?"
I said, "Yes, sir. THUS SAITH THE LORD."
He said, "You mean she's going to get up?"
I said, "She's going to be normal and well in the next few minutes, soon as I can get there."
He said, "Can I go with you?"
I said, "Yes, sir."
And there was a man there from Texas, just brought his wife up, and she was healed. He said, "Brother Branham, can I go with you?" He had seen the Nail girl healed, few weeks before that.
I said, "Yes, sir."
He said, "You mean that little pile of bones that..."
I said, "She's going to be healed just in a few minutes."
We jumped in the car and went down. Now, God works on both ends of the line. Don't you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]
E-42 042 And she said, "I--I prayed." And
said, "I was on my knees all night last night." And she said,
"Along about three o'clock this morning I dreamed a dream," and said,
"the Lord said for me to come here and stand at this gate, that He'd send
the parson down wearing a light suit and a light hat." Said, "I
knowed you."
God works on both ends of the line, you know. Could you imagine God stopping that airplane for that colored woman way down there? That shows the sovereignty and love. God's no respect of persons: sure not. And that poor colored woman she knowed God.
And I--I patted her on the back. And her back was damp. She had been standing out there in that dew that morning. She was standing there. She said, "No, suh. I haven't left here. I was standing right here. God told me you was coming."
I said, "Lady, my name is Branham."
She said, "Branham?" she said, "I'm glad to meet you."
I said, "Did you ever hear of me?"
She said, "No, sir. I don't believe I ever did."
I said, "I pray for the sick."
She said, "Yes, sir." And she said, "Won't you come in?"
E-68 068 And so there was some people there from Texas, and they wanted to see it happen. And down we went. And while... You know, God works on both ends of the line. And that woman, she went in to pray, and her little girl got to crying because she wanted... She had wanted... She seen the baptismal service advertised in the paper, or announced. And she wanted to go to it. 'Course she couldn't move, hadn't moved for nine years and eight months.
So she--she was laying there crying. And oh, it got her mother so bad. Now, here's her mother's story. You ask and see if her mother tells it the same way.
E-29 029 How that many while this bridge was going up, many prophesied and said, "It'll fall down. It'll fall down." How that those surveyors went forth, and they checked everything to be sure of coming from both shores to meet out here in the middle. How everything must be perfect, must meet their adjustments in the eighth of an inch or an inch, so that it would come together just right.
And on the day of the coming together, when both ends would join together, see... 'Cause the man had done all that he could do with the reputation he had, he had planned it so perfectly till both ends come together within an inch apart, each one, perfect as it could be. How the people screamed and shouted when they knowed the job was completed.
E-42 042 Well, the first thing you know. Somebody come running up around the street and said, "Hey, you know what's happening, pastor?"
"What?" Why, all the people are around, of course, weeping and sympathizing with him, the good, honest people of the church. He's going to lose his daughter, and as one come by and said, "You know what? After all the trouble we got around here, this girl dying; and yet I understand that that fanatic prophet of Galilee has just hit the shore down here."
The hope begin to jump in little Jairus' chest right then. If... You know faith cometh by hearing. Is that right? Somebody told him that Jesus had come. Somebody says tonight that Jesus was raised from the dead: what a hope. Amen.
Old Jairus thought, "If I could only see Him now. I'll express my... Oh, oh, oh, oh. What'll I do. I'll lose my job. I'll lose my congregation. What will I do? Well, maybe I'd better not go." Walked in and looked at the little girl. She's almost gone. What had happened?
Right down in his heart, God begin to work. "Jairus, this is your time." You know God gets Christ a vision, and God works on both ends of the line. See?
E-2 002 May the God of heaven bless you all richly
tonight, as we minister in His Name. And it was... Last night I was just a
little late with you, but I... Always Satan
working on both ends of the line, you know, and so does God.
But I had to drive fast to get here last evening, and I never thought about you setting there fanning, and--and I have, myself, why, I was hot, too, up here. But we're trying to, by the grace of God, to escape a hotter place. And--and then...
So we won't even have this kind of a fan down there. So we're thankful that we're not going that way. And we're trying to take everyone we can with us the other way. We say that by grace with fear and trembling in our heart, working out our own salvation. May the Lord bless you.
E-17 017 Down out of the big part of the city, way down on the river... (What do you call colored people here?) down to where the Negroes people live. And I was going down the street, the Holy Spirit said, "Just keep walking." I know that you believe that we're led by the Holy Ghost. And I looked at my watch; it was almost seven o'clock. The Holy Spirit said, "Keep walking."
I looked, hanging over the gate--leaning over a gate, a little bitty house, there was a--a great big woman. And I started to pass by her.
She said, "Good morning, minister."
I turned and looked at her. I said, "How did you know I was a minister?"
She said, "I knew you were coming." God works on both ends of the line. This has happened thousands of times. I'm just telling you this one, for it's on my heart.
And I looked at her, I said, "Auntie (lady), how did you know I was a minister?"
She said, "Last night I was in prayer. I've got a boy, and he was given to me by the Lord." Said, "Did you ever read in the Bible where the Shunammite woman wanted a boy? And the prophet Elijah blessed her, and she had a boy."
I said, "I remember the case."
She said, "I was that kind of woman. God gave me a boy. But I'm sorry, he got out in the wrong company, and he caught a disease--a social disease--and he's dying, backslidden." Said, "The doctor was here two days ago, and said, 'He will never come to no more. The valves in his heart is eat up by the disease.'" And said, "He's laying..." said, "He's laying there dying. And I just can't stand to see him die like that. He's my baby." And said, "I prayed all night. 'O Lord, You give me this boy. But have You an Elijah?'" And said, "I went to sleep, and the Lord said to me at three o'clock this morning, 'Go stand at the gate. One's coming down the street.'"...?... And said, "I've been standing here since before day. And I seen you coming...?...
I said, "Lady, my name is Branham. I pray for the sick. Did you ever hear of me?"
She said, "No, Reverend Branham, I never heard of you."
And I walked over, put my hand on her back; it was wet from the dew. She had a man's shirt tied around her head. The tears was running down her great dark cheeks. She said, "Will you come in?"
E-31 031 You see. God answers on both ends of the line. About two hours before that, the brook had dried up on top of the mountain where Elijah was. He said, "Elijah, go down to the city and keep walking until you find a woman with two sticks in her hand. She's going to feed you." God does things real. "I've sent you down there and she's going to feed you. She hasn't got nothing in the house, but I'm going to feed you."
And he walked down the street till he seen that woman packing those two sticks, and that must be her. So he had to catch her attention. He said, "Would you fetch me a little water?"
And she said, "I will."
And as she turned and started, he said, "And just bring me a little morsel of bread in your hand." Elijah seeing that vision already knowed what the conditions was.
And she said, "As the Lord liveth..." Elijah knew she was a Christian then, a believer. "As the Lord liveth, I've only got just a handful of meal and a spoonful of oil, that I've already prepared; I've dressed it, got it ready. And I'm taking these two sticks to make a little cake for my son and I. And we're going to eat it and die."
E-39 039 They that wait, don't be weary. If you've got the Word and the Spirit, and sacrifice your own belief, and laid it up on the cross, something's got to happen.
She started walking back. And about that time, she heard a voice. And as she turned to look, there was a kind looking old bald-headed gentleman standing at the gate with a long flowing whiskers. He said, "Would you fetch me just a little drink of water?"
Maybe on her lips, she was ready to say, "I just have a little bit." Water was scarce. All the springs was dry.
What was it? God works on both ends of the line. God had showed Elijah a vision, "Go down into the city for I have commanded, not the ravens this time to feed you, but I'm commanded a widow woman to sustain you," and took him to the poorest of the poors. "I've commanded a widow woman to sustain you." And she didn't even have enough meal in the barrel for her and her son to live that day. But, "I've commanded. I've ordained it." Blessed be the Name of the Lord. When God ordains anything, it's got to happen. It'll be there; God will meet it. "I've commanded a widow there to take care of you, sustain you."
E-11 011 Well, when I looked around, it was almost dark. The bell had been ringing, and they had search parties out for me. I jumped up and run through the woods real quick, and I jumped over a little strand of wire, right into Brother Wright's arms. He said, "Brother Billy," he said, "Mama, has been ringing that bell and we've hunted everywhere."
I said, "Brother Wright, no
supper. Little Georgie Carter's going to come out of that bed and
live."
And he said, "How do you know?"
I said, "The Lord just met me right up there by that dogwood bush and told be to go by the way of Carter's."
Do you believe God answers on both ends of the line? Her mother... That afternoon, little Georgie wanted to be baptized to bad, till she'd cried all afternoon. And her mother, a good woman--(I'll give you her address if you'd like to write to her after this.)--and her mother, a very fine woman, her father, also...
And they live kindly the edge of the little city. And so she'd cried all afternoon. Her mother, young, yet had turned gray from--from just setting for nine years by the side of that girl, watching her dwindle away and die. She had not seen the leaves, or the grass, or anything for nine years and eight months. She'd been on her back. They could not even put her on the bed pan. She had a rubber sheet under her, and they'd just pull the sheet out, the regular linen sheet. And then she had been crying and wanting to be well so she could go and be baptized.
E-32 032 Well, when I--I heard that bell ringing... And Mr. Wright told me, said, "When that bell rings, mama's got supper on the table and you come on." an old country bell... Said, "You ring it. She--when she's ringing it, you come on." I heard it. But I was in the vision, and I couldn't go. You know God answers on both ends of the line. Don't you believe that?
The same time little Georgie was so nervous, knowing I was going to leave the country, she was crying; and she wanted to come and be baptized; and she'd promised God; and she got real restless.
And her mother, wonderful woman, and she went out in the kitchen, and knelt down, and shut the door between her and Georgie. And she said, "Oh, God of heaven," she said, "do something to that low down impostor, that's come through our country here. In the nine years that my poor little girl's laid on that bed, she's never complained one time. And now, he's got her all scrupled up in her mind, telling her about a Healer or something another." And said, "Rebuke that man. Rebuke that man, Lord." She was honest about it. She said, "Run him out of the country. My poor little girl laying in there dying with not a hope that she can live any longer in there; and laying in there like that... And that impostor getting her all worked up under a false hope..."
FAITH IS THE SIXTH
SENSE CHATAUQUA OH 60-0611E
E-34 034 About that time, the door slammed on the car. I was getting out on the outside. Oh, God answers on both ends if you'll just let Him do it. There was Georgie there believing against all the unbelief. She was still holding on that God would make her well. If He could heal one girl, He could heal another. Yes. And she seen me. And I walked up under the anointing. I never even knocked at the door. I just opened the door. Her father was gone up to his barn to get some milk, that he'd just got through milking. And so I walked up, opened the door, walked in there, I... And this woman, the mother, just fainted and fell over in the floor. And Georgie was there, and she looked over at me.
And I said, "Sister Georgie, the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom you love."... And there behind the bed, the little post her bed she'd rubbed all the paint off it... as long as she could get her hands back that way, holding to that and crying to God for relief. And her church telling her the days of miracles is past. She was born to be a child of God. And there she was holding on to that promise. God by His mercy showed a vision and sent me down there. There's where it was. I said, "I know who you are now. You're that lamb that I saw caught up in this bunch of theology down here." Hallelujah! I said, "Georgie, the Lord Jesus Who you love and serve appeared to me up here on there on the hill a while ago in that same Light that hung over the Nail girl, and He told me to come by this a way. I command the devil in the Name of Jesus Christ to leave you." I said, "Rise up on your feet."
Satan said, "How's she going to rise up, and her legs no bigger than a broomstick hardly." That wasn't a thought. "Come up anyhow! And she couldn't even raise sputumin cup.
E-69 069 And the other morning, the Holy Spirit was leading me down the street: I went into the room to get breakfast. Something said, "Don't go. Walk down the street."
I started walking down the street, and I wondered, "Why? Why?" Kept walking down the street and I seen two ladies standing on the corner. I kept walking, I thought, "Father, what would You have me do?"
"Just keep walking." And when I walked down there, these ladies turned around and said, "Sir, could you tell me where a grocery store is?"
"I said, "No. I'm a stranger here."
And looked around and said, "Aren't you Brother Branham?"
I thought, "Here He is."
One little woman had been praying real hard to see me privately. She went out on the corner to wait. God sent her out there, and God sent me from my room down. She's setting right here now. She told me about something she wanted to speak to me about in private. See? You... The only thing you have to do is follow the leading of the Spirit. He works on both ends of the line, makes it meet just exactly right. See? Just exactly.
E-80 080 And she was crying. And I put my hand upon the wet blanket, and it raining then. And I said, "Heavenly Father, this little woman--no doubt in my mind but what You're answering her." I said, "I saw the vision, that You know to be truth, of a little baby. I'm only accepting it by faith that it's this baby. I don't know the woman nor the baby, but something... You're worked on both ends of the line." And I laid my hands upon it. And when I did, it kicked and screamed just as loud as it could scream. The mother jerked the blanket off of it, and there it was alive in her arms.
I said, "Brother Espinosa, don't mark that down, but send some good loyal person." And she was telling it in Mexican that the doctor pronounced her baby dead with pneumonia that morning about eight or nine o'clock, and here it was after ten that night. And I said, "Send and get a written, documented statement from the doctor that pronounced it dead."
And the Mexican doctor wrote a statement and signed it, "I pronounced the baby dead, no respiration or nothing, in my office this morning at nine o'clock." And here it is ten o'clock that night. And the next morning the baby was in the doctor's office to be examined, normally again. Why? Because the little woman was persistent.
E-17 017 And the day grew close to when Jesus was supposed to enter the city. No doubt but the day before, she might've seen if his attitude had changed any. So she said maybe, "Zacchaeus, are--are you going to that breakfast in the morning?"
"Why, certainly not. Why, that bunch of people... You expect me... I've got the best restaurant in town, and they hold it over at Levinski's. (I hope there's not a Levinski here.) But anyhow, over at the other place. You see? And why, I got the best place in town. They picked that place down there, where they ought--they ought to come to my place to hold this." You see? He wasn't going.
Then she got to praying really desperately. So then, that night the little fellow couldn't rest at all. You know, there's something about it. If you go to really desperately praying about something, God works on both ends of the line. See? He--He--He answers.
