I PERCEIVE YOU ARE A PROPHET CONNERSVILLE IN 53-0614E
E-48 I looked and here come the men, just pressing their way through, getting to me. And about that time, women, men, just pressing every way, and women trying to hold their little babies over to touch me. Or... It's a pathetic thing. I got babies setting here tonight too. If one of them was sick, I'd feel the same way if some help could come from somewhere.
You might say it's crazy and... No, it wasn't. You get in a desperate condition and you'll do something...?... too. Like Jairus was... At that time, I'll tell you the truth, my wife setting present over here now... I couldn't afford a suit of clothes to that time.
E-7 And that's the way it is, if they don't... If you're not interested in God, you can't talk God to people; but whenever they get hungering and thirsting after righteousness, God said "They shall be filled." But first there has to be a hunger and thirst. You have to really want it.
Just like healing, if a person comes and they're relying... Well, the doctor says, "Maybe I can pull you through in a few weeks." It... Well, they--they won't rely too much on God then. But when the doctor says, "It's the end. It's all that can be done," then's when people gets started really getting to praying, and getting right with God. You go to tearing down the--the suspicions and altars of other types, and get started getting right with God. And so in that last phase, and that's the way usually you see miracles performed is when people gets in that desperate condition.
Now, I--I hope that no one has to get in that desperate condition here. I hope that doesn't exist in--in this country. I hope that it doesn't exist among these people, and I am very, very happy.
E-11 But you know, a lot of times, we people--the people who are smart and educated, they stop and try to figure all that out. That's the reason they miss it. You can't figure it out. I don't care how smart you are. God's not known by education; He's known by faith. You just look at Him and believe. If you can't see, believe anyhow. That's the way we receive Christ.
May the Lord bless you. You're a
very fine audience of people. I wish now, watching the clock, trying to get
just as much time in as I can for the praying for the sick. I want you to do
something for me tonight. I want you to accept it tonight. Just accept it, regardless
of how you feel. Just believe it in your heart and settle it tonight; say,
"This is it. This is all of it. I'm now accepting it." Usually they
wait till the last night of the meeting to do it; weeks later here come their
testimonies in. "Well, you know I hadn't walked for years, but I--I was
setting in my room and I... All at once I got up and walked." Well,
don't wait till after the meeting's over. Do it now. After you go over, you
realize that last night, it's a crucial time. You've got to press hard. That's
when it happens. You've got to get desperate about it. You really got to mean
it.
E-56 You'll be kicked out some of these days from these interdenominationals like this. It'll come a time when you'll have to belong to an organization or you can't worship. As you know, the Scripture says it will be. They just make fun of you now. But there'll be a time where there'll be a boycott. For the mark of the beast must come. You'll either belong to the confederation of the churches, the beast like it is in Rome, or you won't worship at all. That's what the Scripture says.
That's when you'll have to cry out like Isaiah did. And
he got down in the temple, and he realized that; he raised his hands, and he
said, "Oh, Lord, I am a man of unclean lips." You think you're good,
but wait till that time comes. "I dwell among peoples of unclean
lips." What did he? Got desperate. And when you get desperate about
this thing, something will take place. You're not desperate enough.

483-65 That Holy Ghost ought to be more important to you than everything else there is in the world: your prestige, your life, your job, your anything that there is. You should not cease until you have It. You must receive It. It must be the most... And you say, "Well, I'm afraid they at--they my work. I'm afraid that my husband, my..." Don't be afraid; let That be first place. Let everything else go. Let That be first. "Well, I expect to get It one of these days, Brother Branham." Not one of these days: now. This is the time. "Let It be first before I--before I do anything else. Let me have It now." Desperate. That would help answer our question. You get--when you get desperate for It, really got to have It or die (See?), then is when you're going to get It.
I KNOW JEFF IN 60-0417S
17 The patriarch at this time was somewhat
like we are today. He had been in deep troubles, as we call it,
"high waters," and he was desperate. Many days he'd set on the ash
heap, and was trying to find words to console him, trying to find something
that would give him courage, and something that would--would be a comfort to
him as he seen his life fading out of him.
First place, he was an old man, somewhat ninety years old, and he has been stricken by the hand of God. Now, we know that God had not touched him with His hand, but that God had permitted Satan to touch him. God only has agents to do things. God wants an evil done, He just turns Satan loose to do it. And if He wants good done, He has His servants He turns loose to do it.

194 Let me tell you something, my brother, sister, God reveal to you that I love you. It's not to be different; it's to be honest. Don't you take one chance. You wouldn't run a red light because of your body. What about your soul? Don't you cross one of God's red lights.
Some of you is sick. Believe with all your heart. Somebody that's desperate in something, just have faith. I'll show you whether He really, whether it's the Truth or not.
Abraham, you remember the Angel come to him and what He did? See if it's the same thing.

E-49 And after this woman got to Jesus, look there. Here's what real faith does. When you find a jewel, when you find this policy, I don't care how many people try to discourage you, whether if they put you out of your church, whether if they do whatever they want to, you still are persistent. You want the policy.
That's the way Jacob was. It didn't make any difference what he had to do to get that birthright, he wanted it. And we get in that condition, we get desperate. Then we're persistent. "Well, I tell you. I, ahhh... Mama was Pentecostal. I'd pray through tonight, but I see, oh, so tired." Hmmph. You need some of the toxin, what you need--something to make you persistent.
IS THIS THE

54-5 Then time the summer's over, if the Lord willing, I want to leave Alaska and come down to about Denver--central west. Southwest, northwest, central west, crying, "Oh Lord, what would You have me do."
In the meantime, every message, as far as I know of, to be preached will be right here, this tabernacle. Here's where the tapes will be; here's where the headquarters is. And I do not intend to stay with my family in the west. I'm going to seek till I find what God wants me to do. If this year doesn't settle it, then next year, without water or food, I'll walk out into the desert, and I'll wait till He calls me. I can't go on like this. You've got to get desperate. You've got to get to the place where you want to know what's the will of God, and how can you do the will, if you don't know the will? I'm progging because of that vision background what you did (See?), going around as missionary and evangelism until that call come.
Remember the first one when we laid that cornerstone? "Do the work of an evangelist," He said. He didn't say you was an evangelist, but do the work of one; perhaps until the time come for something else, another change of work. Might be something different. I don't know.

E-124 Now, if you'll believe with all your heart, it'll be settled from right now. This'll be a memorial night. They probably won't close these doors tonight. You'll stay all night in here. But if you do like this, say, "Lord, I'm standing on my feet. Until You fill me according to Your promise I'll never move from where I'm standing." You mean business with God, He'll get to business with you.
But until you do, you're hammering, "Lord, will You give me the Holy Ghost tonight? I don't feel nothing. Well, maybe I'll try tomorrow night." You're not going to get anything from God like that. You've got to come desperate, dying. Then you get it. That's right. He promised it. If it isn't, what are you using your time for? If them promises is not true...

65 A--a man from New Albany, he may be here tonight. He's a friend to my Brother Roberson that had a little boy here. I think his wife had cancer once and was healed. And--and now, the little boy has got asthma so bad till he's just in bad shape. Little fellow, almost cancer in throat himself... See? And then, he brought the little boy (Yeah, I see his hand up in the back, back there.), was prayed for this morning. You see? Desperation...
When the wife was about to die with cancer, he knowed that God could heal her. If God could heal the wife, God can heal the boy. It throws it into a state of desperation. See? You must come, and when you're desperate, then God's going to listen to you. But if you're just slothful, you don't care whether He does or not, well then, that's different. You say you do, but it takes desperation to do it.

74 We know it is true that God will meet a desperate soul. Now, we all know that. But it usually takes something to drive us into that--to that despair, to the desperation. It takes something to do it.

90 Jacob stayed there until the blessing came and changed his name from "a deceiver" to "a prince with God." Even the nation was called by his name. Yes, sir. What was it? The results was because he got desperate about the thing. And the next day when he met Esau, he didn't need any guards. He walked right out and met him. See? Why? He had got in desperation till he got the assurance. And you get desperate until you get the assurance. If you don't, don't even come to be prayed for. Don't even come to go at the altar. Wait till it's between life and death to you, then something will happen. Certainly. Desperation.

93 Eliezer got desperate when a responsibility was placed upon him to hunt a bride for Isaac. Eliezer of Damascus was a great man. He was favored by Abraham, and he was trusted by Abraham to go out and hunt a bride, a right type of a bride, for his son, Isaac. Through that would bring forth Christ.
Now, Eliezer, being a spiritual man, knowed what it
meant. The right kind of a woman had to be that--that man's wife. And how would
he choose it? In the hour of his desperation, when he arrived at the city, he
prayed and said, "Lord God..." That's the thing. When you get
desperate go to praying. "Lord God, let the first maid that comes forth
and waters the camel and gives me a drink be that." He prayed in the hour
of his desperation.

97 Jonah, throwed overboard in the time of a storm, in the bottom of the sea in the belly of the whale. All hopes of survival was gone. But it happened to come on his mind that Solomon in dedicating the temple said, "Lord, if the people be in trouble anywhere and they'll turn towards this temple and pray, then hear." And turning over in the belly of the whale, managed to get somewhere to his knees, I imagine, with the vomit of the whale all over him. There he prayed in desperation, and in that desperate... Just a few breaths of oxygen is all he had in the whale's belly, and in them few breaths that he was drawing, maybe he didn't know which way he was, but said, "Lord, I believe I'm looking upward towards Your temple." And with just a few breaths to go, in desperation prayed under those circumstances, never been done before, but he was desperate. He prayed, and God kept him alive for three days and nights, and delivered him at the place to deliver his message. Desperation.

117 "Oh, Jesus."
Some of them said, "Shut up, you make too much noise."
But he was desperate. If He got by, he might never have another opportunity. We might not either. This might be the last night. Desperation, he screamed out, "Oh, Jesus!" No matter who told him to stop, he cried just the same that much more louder. When they told him to shut up, it made him get louder. He was desperate. Nobody could stop him. "Thou Son of David, have mercy on me." And he screamed in desperation.

149 Desperation. "When thou seekest Me with all thine heart, then I'll hear you." See?
The Kingdom... The law and the prophets were until John. Since then, the Kingdom of heaven's been preached, and men press into It. You don't just stand around and say, "Pick me up by the collar, Lord, push me in." You press into it. You get desperate, between life and death.
DESPERATION JEFF IN 63-0901E
170 Remember, desperation. See what desperation will do? Desperation will drive you across the sea. Desperation will drive you from another state. Desperation will drive you anywhere. Some precious old father and his daughter with desperation tried to get in, come in, everything else, and set down anyhow. A few moments ago the Holy Spirit delivered the thing here in the meeting, just 'fore I got in here. Oh.

181 Now, our services just involve one thing right after the other. Now, we're going to dismiss the audience to those who have to go. And best I can see, it's about eight minutes until 10 o'clock; and if you have to go, we're--we're happy you were here, and we want you to come back and be with us. The rest of you, after we stand, will be seated again and those who are going, go just quietly as possible. And then we're going to have the Communion service immediately after that. You're invited to stay if you can. If you can't, God bless you. Pray for me. I'll pray for you. And remember, keep the Token applied and be desperate to press to the Kingdom of God. Amen!
Now, we're going to sing our dismissing song, if we can and... "Take The Name Of Jesus With You," as we stand.

E-77 Now, let me instruct these people here first. Now, friends, whatever you're here for, He knows. Now, I could prove it to you and take one by one, bring you up here on this platform, and there won't be one thing that He won't make known. Now, that's been since I was a little boy. That gift's not in question. But the question is, can you receive it? Do you believe it? Now, He's here. Well, if He's here, then there's only one thing: He keeps His Word. Then just believe that you receive it, and accept it, raise up and say, "Lord God, I'm here to accept it." And just stay there till it happens.
Like Buddy Robinson said one time in a corn field; he
said, "Lord, if you don't give me the Holy Ghost, when You come back
You'll find a pile of bones laying right here." He was dead earnest. And you're not going to get anything
from God till you get desperate enough.
